Flirty Flamingo Free as a Bird Card

Have you checked out the new Bird Balalrd suite yet? This is my favourite suite in the new catalogue so watch out for many gorgeous projects comimg up. My favourtie thing in the suite is the Bird Ballard DSP and particularly the sheet used in this project with the birds all over it, its beautiful. Here I’ve used to a small circle of the paper and its made a gorgeous card.

Flirty Flamingo Free as a Bird card - flat

I used Flirty Flamingo for my card base as I thought it helped the flowers in the paper really pop out, even those this isn’t listed as one of the co-ordinating colours it still works wonderfully. I addded some detail with soem stamped flowers in Flirty Flamingo.

I cut the bird out with a circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies and then layered it on a Pearlized Doily with a circle of Petal Pink and a scalloped cicle of Pool Party both cut from the Layering Circles Dies.

I added the greeting “Hello” cut from the small tag die in the Merry Christmas Dies and added a linen thread bow to one side. To finishe the card off I added a few Pool Party sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment.

Over the Moon – Cow’s It Going? Card

Growing up on a farm has meant I have a soft spot for cows so when I saw the new Over the Moon stamp set featuring these adorable little cows I knew they’s be one of the first sets I’d buy. I love how cute the images are and the sentimets just make me smile, especially the one I’ve used here, its perfect for when you just want to write a note to a friend.

I used Granny Apple Green as my main colour for this card and added a touch of Poppy Parade on the cows flower as I wanted a bright, happy spring like card, a total contrast to the wet miserable weather we’ve being having here in the UK recently.

Over the Moon- Cows it Going -flat

For the background I used the Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder, which you can see better in the first photograph. My cute little cow was coloured with Stampin’ Blends and then mounted on a scalloped oval in Granny Apple Green cut from the Layering Ovals dies.

I added a strip of the GrannyApple Green textured weave ribbon to add more colour but also because I’ve had it a while and never used it!

Hope you’ve enjoyed today’s fun little card using Over the Moon, amust if you like cute critters.

pootlers new catalogue blog hop - sneak peak

For the base of my card I chose to use one of the new In-Colours Pretty Peacock which is a lovely blue colour which for me is the perfect mix of Tranquil Tide and Island Indigo. I paired this with the Mint Macaron pattern in the Garden Lane DSP.  This paper is a mix of diffrent pattern in five of our green shades: Garden Green, Mint Macaron, Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow and Soft Sea Foam, I love all of the patterns and think this is a great idea for a paper collection, I’d love to see these patterns in other colour combinations, Stampin’ Up! if your reading this please bring us a purple version!

Here’s the finished card, I used the Stitched Nested Dies to create the two matts, one in Pretty in Peacock and one which has the water-coloured image stamped on it which was coloured with Pretty Peacock, Mint Macaron and Seaside Spray.  I love this image, its perfect for Father’s Day next week.
