Pootler’s Team New Catalogue Blog Hop

It’s that time of year again when my team mates and I are celebrating the start of a new catalogue with a blog hop featuring our favourite new products from the Autumn/Winter catalogue. There are so many gorgeous products in this catalogue that it took me a while to decide what to make, but the gorgeous Dashing Deer bundle was calling to me so here’s what I came up with after a little play.

pootlers a-w blog hop

Teamed with the  Joyous Noel Speciality DSP and a basic layout using the Layering Ovals Framelits as a focal point I think I’ve created three lovely and very different looking cards. This gorgeous paper has copper foiling on one side of each sheet and is the perfect background for that deer die cut.

To finish off this first card I embossed the Happiest Christmas Wishes in copper and die cut from the label in the Petals and More Framelits set  and I also added three copper flowers which are dies from the Detailed Deer Framelits.

For the second card I wanted the colour combo to be Merry Merlot and Gold, which shows that the back sides of the Joyous Noel paper are just as gorgeous. I love how well that deer stamped, I think its just beautiful. For the swirly corners I definitely recommend using the multipurpose adhesive sheets as those swirls are delicate.

For my third card I wanted to add more interest to the oval in the middle so I created a background by firstly sponging on some Pool Party to the top of the oval. I then stamped three trees from the Timeless Tidings stamp set. To create the snowy effect I cut out another oval and then cut it in half using a wiggly line. I then took the bottom half and covered it in Wink of Stella which when dried gave a lovely glistening effect just like snow. I think the new Frosted White Shimmer Paint would also have a similar effect.

So thats my little celebration of the Dashing Deer Bundle from the new Autumn/Winter catalogue. If you’re looking for more inspiration ( and more products to add to your wishlist) then click on the link below which will take you to a list of all of my fabulous team mates who are taking part in today’s hop. Water-Coloured Autumn Leaves Card with Blended Seasons

There’s only two more days to get your hands on the Blended Seasons bundle so I’m back today with another idea for you.

I’ve used the falling leaves stamp and stamped over watercolour paper in Stazon and then coloured with Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Garden Green watercolour pencils, which all belong to assortment 2. I coloured the leaves really roughly to try and highlight the affects of the turning leaves and I think the end result is quite good….if you don’t look too closely.

To add some texture I added some strips of ribbon to the side of my greetings panel. I used a small piece of the new Braided Linen Trim and I wanted something which would add a bit more Cajun Craze to the card. We don’t carry anything like this so I made my own using the Polka Dot Ribbon and the Dark Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends marker, which adds exactly what I wanted to the card.

Hope you’ve enjoyed todays project and remember order these products now before they’re gone forever.

“Praying for You” Card with Beautiful Promenade

The Petal Promenade suite in the catalogue really appeals to me because of the beautiful floral stamps and dies and a paper pack which is just stunning in real life. I have struggled to use this set though as I found the sentiments hard to work with. For today’s card I’ve been inspired by the examples in the catalogue on page 106, I often look to the catalogue for inspiration when I’m struggling with a set as its a good starting point.

I’ve got less layers on my card but have added that beautiful large flower to the front of the card in Petal Pink but I wish I done it in Flirty Flamingo so it stood out a bit more.

If you haven’t got a copy of the catalogue and would like one then please get in touch at dibbystamps@gmail.com I can send them to the UK, france, Germany, Austria and The Netherlands.

Rainbow Flower Birthday Card with Happy Birthday Gorgeous

We’ve had miserable weather here in the UK the last couple of days so I was inspired to make a rainbow themed card in the hope the sun will come back out for the last week of the school holidays. So I pulled out one of my favourite stamp set Happy Birthday Gorgeous and a mix of colours to make a rainbow.

Starting at the top of my card a stamped a row of flowers in the following colours: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Blueberry Bushel and Fresh Fig. I did have Balmy Blue and Night of navy in the mix for my blue and indigo colours but half way down I realised I wouldn’t have room to complete the rainbow so swapped them for Blueberry Bushel which is the perfect mix of blue and indigo.

To finish the card I stamped and embossed the Happy Birthday greeting in white onto black card and punched it out with the Pretty Label Punch.

A quick simple card which will hopefully encourage the sun to come back out.
