Blueberry Bushell Balloon Birthday Card

I’m so so sad that the Happy Birthday Die is retiring, this is hands down my most used die, its so perfect for quick and gorgeous birthday cards. If you just buy one thing off the retiring list then make this the product, I think its a must have and will never part with mine.

For this quick birthday card I used the Best Route DSp as inspiration for a colour palette taking Blueberry Bushell as my main colour, the perfect boy birthday blue in my opinion and mixed it with some Mango Melody and Call Me Clover.

I finished the card off with some balloons from Birthday Banners another stamp set which is leaving us at the end of May.

This card is for my godson who is ten tomorrow, I hope he likes it.

Foiled Birthday cards with Jar of Sweets Dies

This pair of cards are made completely with die cuts and no stamps. I’ve paired the Jar of Sweets Framelits with the Happy Birthday Thinlits and the gorgeous free foil from Sale-A-Bration to make these stunning cards.

Firstly I cut my foil matt layer and then adhered it to a sheet of the Multi Purpose Adhesive Sheets, this makes sticking intricate die-cuts like the Happy Birthday Thinlits much easier than using other adhesives.

I cut all the shapes from my adhesive foil so I only used a piece 14cm x 10cm for each card.

I mixed and matched the two colours of foil between the two cards, for an additional finishing touch I added some of the Grapefruit Grove  Adhesive Backed sequins from the Gingham Gala pack.

I really love how these cards have turned out, the Grapefruit Grove Foil is stunning when the light catches it and makes it look iridescent. It’s free with any order over £45.00 and I think worth placing the order if you want cards with a bit of Wow Factor.

Seasonal Shapes Birthday Card

If you’ve followed my blog for a while you will know that I love Stampin’ Up! dies and use them on pretty much every card I make. So today I decided to challenge myself to make a card which was made purely from dies, no stamping at all. I’ve focused on the Stitched Seasons dies again as I just  love the frames you can make from them.

As a back ground to my card a did a bit of matting and layering which a piece of paper from the Garden Impressions 6×6 DSP stack, despite my love of florals I’m not a huge fan of these papers as they are a bit busy for my taste but I think they work okay here as a background.

The three patterned paper pieces measured 9.5cm x 4cm ( 3 11/16″ x 1 7/16″) and the matt in Melon Mambo measure 10cm x 4.5m ( 3 7/8 x 1 6/8″).

For my greeting I used the Happy Birthday Thinlit die which I adhered to my project using multipurpose adhesive sheets as this die is quite delicate and the adhesive turns it into a sticker, making it much easy to position. The flowers were made from two diecuts in Shaded Spruce and two in Petal Pink. With the pink ones I just chopped off the leaves and stuck them onto the Shaded spruce leaves. To finish the card I added some Petal Pink pearls from the Artisan Pearls to the centres of the flowers to cover over the small hole in their centres.

Hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project, I now think I need to challenge myself to make a card not using any dies, which I think will be much harder.

Sneak Peak: Happy Birthday Gorgeous

One of my favourite stamp sets from the new catalogue is Happy Birthday Gorgeous, it combines my two favourite things birthday stamps and flowers and I can see myself using it a lot. As a demonstrator we are able to order certain products early, imagine how I excited I was that this set was one of them, along with the matching and utterly gorgeous Happy Birthday Thinlits die.

Today’s project is a super quick one as its been my son’s birthday today so we’ve spent all weekend celebrating and I’ve had little time to craft.

The card background was created using two of the flower stamps. First I stamped the outlines in Berry Burst and the stamped the centres in Powder Pink, I love how good these two colours look together.  The stamps themselves have little arrows on which makes lining them up easy.

To create the greeting I used the new Happy Birthday Thinlit cut out of Tranquil Tide, this is prefect for creating a quick focal point to any birthday card. I mounted the greeting on the largest oval from the Stitched Shape Framelits and finished the card off with a layer of Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon which I’ve ruched up.

Hope you enjoyed this quick look at some of the new products coming June 1st.
