Football Frenzy Birthday Card

One of my favourite sets from this years Spring/Summer catalogue has been the Custom Tee stamp set and T-shirt Builder Framelits, the combinations are endless with these products. I’m so gutted it didn’t make it one to next years catalogue as I have plenty more playing to do with these products. Today I’m going to show you a football inspired birthday card which I made for one of my son’s friends.

Can you guess how I made the football? Yes that’s right I used the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, gosh that’s a mouthful isn’t it! I took a piece of Whisper white and then a piece of Basic Black and ran them both through the bigshot. I didn’t spritz the cardstock first as recommended as I only wanted a faint impression….it was still pretty deep.

I then cut out seven black hexagons and stuck them on top of the Whisper White so they formed the following pattern, similar to a football.

I then cut out a circle using the Layering Circles Framelits and my football was complete. The football shirt was stamped in Emerald Envy with stamps from the Custom Tee set and then cut out with the T-Shirt Builder Framelits.

The other elements on the card came from the Confetti Celebration stamp set which is one which hasn’t a had lot of love over the last year but is actually a very handy set to have in your stash.

To finish the card off I added a strip of Emerald Envy dsp from the 2016/2018 In-Colour stack and layered all the elements along the side. Here is a close up of the football

So what do you think ? Do you like my football themed card, I’m really pleased how it turned out and now have a great card idea whenever there’s a football fan birthday insights.

Although the Custom Tee stamp set and T-Shirt Builder are on the retired list there were still available at the time of writing this post, so grab them quick if you like them.

Step It Up Sunday – Petals & Paisley’s Suite

Today I’m starting a new series Step It Up Sunday, where I take one design and take it from a basic design to a more advanced one in easy stages. The suite I’m going to focus on this week is Petals & Paisleys from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue. I love this suite as it has as it has so many possibilities.

Here’s the first card I made using a simple base of Delightful Dijon with a layer of paper from the Petals & Paisleys Speciality dsp. The greeting is from the Bella & Friends stamp set which is stamped on a Very Vanilla oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits set and matted on a Delightful Dijon scalloped oval from the same Framelits set. The card was embellished with a little Mint Macaron ribbon from the ribbon trio pack in the A/W catalogue.

For the second card I added an extra layer of pattern paper matted on Delightful Dijon and also added a little stamp from the Paisleys & Posies set to add a little something to the greetings panel.

The final card has some embellishments added which are cut from the Paisley Framelits Dies in Delightful Dijon and Mint Macaron. So there it is one basic card, three different ways. Hope you like it.

Watercolour Wash with Irresistably Floral Designer Paper

One of the things I love about the new Irresistably Floral Designer Paper is that you can colour it to fit any project you wish. For today’s card I couldn’t decide which colour combination to use so I made two versions, a blue/green one and a pink/peach one. Hello In-Colours 2016-2018

Firstly apologies for being missing for over a month, I think I under-estimated how busy I would be in May, we had birthday parties every weekend which left me with not much spare time and even less energy to create anything. So I’m very behind in working on my new catalogue goodies, most of which have sat in their box since the beginning of May.

The first finished cards I’ve made with my new products have been these little notecards featuring the new In-Colours, the new layering squares Framelits and the stamp set I was most drawn to when I first saw the catalogue, Blooms & Wishes.

incolourbloomandwishesnoetcardsEach card is 4″ square and is made using just one of the ink colours. I just love how I have been able to get three different shades of the same colour just by stamping off onto scrap paper once or twice before stamping onto my whisper white panel.

Which one is your favourite? Mine was the Dapper Denim version as you can see all the watercolour detail of the large flower really clearly.
