Today I’m taking part in the Pootles Team Birthday Blog Hop for birthdays in July, mine is on the 25th and for this hop I decided to use my favourite products to create a birthday card for myself…just in case hubby forgets!

So here is my card

Can you guess how old I am? For this card I used my very favourite stamp set Blooms & Wishes and four of the new In-Colours: Fresh Fig, Berry Burst, Powder Pink and Tranquil Tide. I used all three of the large flowers and a couple of the smaller ones and stamped them in a random pattern all over my card. I added some leaves in Tranquil Tide and to fill in all the little gaps I used the small dotted stamped from Birthday blooms in Powder Pink.

I die cut the Happy Birthday Thinlit in Copper Foil and cut it in half to create my greeting. I also cut out the numbers 3 and 4 from the Large Number Thinlits set. I made a middle strip to mount the greeting on with Powder Pink.

I cut out the largest scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Framelits in Powder Pink and the largest circle in Whisper White. I then took the “TH” stamp from Number of Years and embossed it in copper a the edge of the circle.

To finish the card I mounted the numbers on my circle and added it to the card.

Mum’s 60th Birthday Card featuring Botanical Blooms

It’s been quite a while since I’ve done any crafting, I just haven’t felt inspired recently despite having loads of gorgeous products to play with. Anyway it was my mum’s 60th birthday this weekend and I knew I wanted to make a special card for her that showed I cared, so I got out the Botanical Blooms Stamp Set and matching Framelits and had a real good play making all kinds of flowers. Here is the card I came up with

I really love how this card turned out and can highly recommend the Botanical Builder Framelits for bringing back you mojo if its gone walkabout. The colour scheme I chose came from the Falling In Love DSP which is just gorgeous, I need more before this catalogue ends. Along with Sugarplum and Very Vanilla I used the gold foil cardstock and some Mint Macaron as an accent colour.

On the inside I just stamped a boarder along the bottom using the flowers from Botanical builders and the leaf stamp comes from Blooms and Wishes, which had to be part of the card as its my favourite set. The greeting in the card comes from Balloon Adventures.

The card base was an 8″ x 8″ one which I had in my stash from my pre Stampin Up days. You could make a similar one using two sheets of Thick Whisper White and joining together.

I’m pleased to report my mum loved her card and I hope you did too.

Floral Friday – Blooms & Wishes

Blooms and Wishes is probably my most favourite stamp set from the current Annual catalogue, I just love the slightly water-coloured look it gives to the flowers, making for some beautiful cards. This card is my October customer thank you card, so if you shopped with me last month one of these will be in the post to you.

It was a very simple card to make just a couple of layers and some stamping but I think the end result is beautiful. I chose a colour scheme of Island Indigo, Mint Macaron and Pool Party and by stamping off some of these colours I ended up with a variety of shades on the card, which adds to the water-coloured effect.

The greetings panel matts were created from the Tags and Labels Framelits and I finished the card off with a little Mint Macaron Mini Striped Ribbon and a few pearls.

I really love this card and hope my customers do too. If you would like your own handmade card from me next month all you have to do is place an order with me this month, here is the link to my online shop.

Hello In-Colours 2016-2018

Firstly apologies for being missing for over a month, I think I under-estimated how busy I would be in May, we had birthday parties every weekend which left me with not much spare time and even less energy to create anything. So I’m very behind in working on my new catalogue goodies, most of which have sat in their box since the beginning of May.

The first finished cards I’ve made with my new products have been these little notecards featuring the new In-Colours, the new layering squares Framelits and the stamp set I was most drawn to when I first saw the catalogue, Blooms & Wishes.

incolourbloomandwishesnoetcardsEach card is 4″ square and is made using just one of the ink colours. I just love how I have been able to get three different shades of the same colour just by stamping off onto scrap paper once or twice before stamping onto my whisper white panel.

Which one is your favourite? Mine was the Dapper Denim version as you can see all the watercolour detail of the large flower really clearly.
