Floral Friday: Brushed Blooms

Today I’m showcasing a couple of cards with the Brushed Blooms Bundle. I’m sad this one is not carrying over into our main catalogue as with the mixture of flowers, sentiments and paint effects I think its quite a versatile set and one I haven’t had much time to play with.

These two cards today on the dies as I had a play and made a whole stack of them. I used the fine-tip glue when assembling them as I’m running low on adhesive sheets but they would have made things a lot quicker.

I used Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Polished Pink for my flowers and Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen for the leaves, on a card base of Very Vanilla.

For the background I’ve used a sheet of the Soft Succulent Designer Paper. I think this years designs are the best we’ve has as they are all very generic and easy to use on any project, I do struggle a bit when patterns have a lot of words on them.

To add interest to the backgrounds I’ve used the Basic Borders Dies, these are one of my favourite products from the new catalogue and they are the perfect size for card bases.

Which set are you most sad to see go from the Mini Catalogue?

Simple Stamping with In Bloom

This is the first time I’ve pulled out the In Bloom stamp set, its a really great set for creating your own designer paper which is what I’ve done here.

I’ve used a colour combination of Merry Merlot, Shaded Spruce and Gorgeous Grape and used the Rectangle Stitched dies for the layers on the card.

I’ve finished the card off with a little Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding.

Daffodil Tulips Card

Daffodil coloured Tulips, well why not! I don’t use yellow that much as I’m more of a pink/purple girl so today I used Daffodil Delight as my starting point and paired it with Granny Apple Green.

I’m loving seeing the daffodils in my garden but as we dont currently have any daffodil images I’m using Timeless Tulips.

I’ve simply stamped the tulip heads in Daffodil Delight, filling in the gaps with second generation stamping and then added some leaves and stems in Granny Apple Green. I’ve then added some punched out Tulips to add a little dimension.

I’ve added a length of Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon across the card to add my greeting label, I’m sad this ribbon is leaving us as its been one of my favourites ffrom this catalogue.

A simple card but think its sure to brighten someones day.

Rococo Rose Tasteful Touches Flower Card

Rococo Rose cardstock may have already sold out but Fliry Flamingo could be a good alternative if you want to case this card. I’ve used the Tasteful Touches stamp set and die set and gone for a vintage type card today.

The background paper come from the In Good Taste DSP pack and this is one of my favourite sheets in the pack as I love the look of this woven cotton fabric effect, perfect for that vintage feel.

I’ve stamped the flower twice to layer it up and give a 3D effect. I’ve brushed over it with Wink of Steller to give the flower a lovely glittery touch.

I’ve added a few stamped Pear Pizzazz springs to the background paper to add some grounding to my flower and greeting.

Free As A Bird Oval Card

Sadly the Layering Ovals dies have now sold out here in Europe but I couldn’t let them go into my craft closet with out one final outing. I’ve paired the with the Free As A Bird stamp set which is carrying over to the next catalogue. I really like the delicate images in this set, these cute little birds were just crying out to be coloured with Stampin’ Blends.

I’ve coloured the little birds with a mix of Petal Pink and So Saffron to give a blended peachy tone, which matches the Champagne Rhinestones which I’ve used to embellish the card. The branch is Soft Suede and the leaves Just Jade.

I’ve used Blackberry Bliss as an accent colour in the flowers in the stamped inmage and also for the stamped flowers on the designer paper background.

As a final touch I added a length of the Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon from the Mini Catalogue

I love the soft feminine feel of this card and hope its not another year before Free As A Bird sees some ink.
