Cabana & Calypso Under My Umbrella Card

I’m hoping today’s card will chase away the rain and bring us some sunshine as I’d love to wear something other than wellies when I’m outisde. Hopefully the bright fun colours of Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral will tempt that sunshine out.

Under My Umbrella Calypso Card (1)

Some punching and a little fussy cutting and you have this cute little card, perfect for sending to someone you haven’t seen for awhile to let them know you care.

World of Good Scrapbook Page

Scrapbooking is something I haven’t done for quite a few years as life just seems to get in the way. Now we are all having more time at home I’ve decided to pull out my old photos and relive some old memories while we wait to make some new ones.

I’ve always thought scrapbooking had to be super complicated with many layers of paper and endless embellishments, but the real focus should be on capturing those memories and higlighting the photos.

The Stampin’ Up! Suites make the super easy as everything coordinates making those pages come together easily. I love the patterns in the World of Good Speciality Designer Paper can work for many occassions, this is not a travel photo just a simple garden shot.

world of good scrapbook page

The background is a 6″ x 8″ (15.2cm x 20.3cm) piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock on which  I stamped the compass stamp in Versamark all over to create a background, alternativley you could use the similar designer paper sheet if you don’t have the Beautiful World stamp set. I mounted my photo with an Early Espresso matt and added a strip of the green world paper to the left hand side of the page.

I use the Tailered Tag punch to cut out three labels and the stamped Adventure Awaits of one of the labels from the World of Good Memories and More pack. I added a compass stick to the top right hand corner with a Misty Moonlight Enamel Dot in the centre just to pull the colour throughout the layout.

This was super simple to create, my only problem now is do I place the page in my album or do I frame it and hang it on the wall.

Step It Up Saturday: Basket of Blooms

Today I’m using the Basket of Blooms set to show you how to take a from simple to stepped-up. I love the Small Bloom punch which was a Sale-A-Bration freebie and I’m glad it carried over, it works great with the Basket of Blooms stamp set to create lots of great images. It’s also one of my daughters favouties to stamp with too.

Basket of Blooms card 1

  1. For this first card cut a piece of Highland heather cardstock to 10cm x 14.4cm and stamp all over with one of the larger flowers in Highland Heather, then adhere to the card base which is made from cardstock 14.4cm x 21cm, scored down the middle at 10.5cm.
  2. Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 5cm x 9cm. Stamp the tall vase at the bottom on the cardstock in Rich Razzleberry, stamp it so only half on the image is on the cardstock. Take a post-it note and stick to the top edge of the vase to cover it, stamp two leaves in Just Jade coming out of the vase, remove post-it note and the stems of the leaves should not be visable. Stamp a birthday greeting along the bottom of the 5cm x 9cm cardtock, I used the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set.
  3. Punch three small blooms from Purple Posy cardstock and adhere to the card add Rich Razzleberry adhesive sequins from the Artistry Blooms collection to the flower centres.

Basket of Blooms card 2

For the second card, add a layer of Playiny With Patterns designer paper measuring 9.5cm x 13.9cm to the Highland Heather layer before adhering to the card.

In step two, stamp the vase in Tuxedo Black Memento ink instead of Rich Razzleberry and the colour with the dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends. Before adhering the stamped image to the card, add it too a Highland Heather cardstock matt measuring 5.5cm x 9.5cm.

Use Stampin’ Dimesnionals to give the flowers some height.

Basket of Blooms card 3

For this final card repeat the steps for the previous two cards with the following additons.

Add a length of Just Jade In-Colour Ribbon across the middle of the designer paper before adhering to the Highland Heather cardstock.

Colour the vase with both dark and light Rich Razzleberry Blends. Instead of mounting the stampe dimage on a plain cardstock matt replace with an embossed layer measuring 7cm x 11cm, here I’ve used the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder.

Stamp flower images in Highland Heather before punching them out. Use a foam matt and the rounded lid end of some Multipurpose Liquid glue to rub over the flowers in a circular motion, this allows the petals to curl upwards slightly.

Stamp the greeting on a Purple Posy labels, made from the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch, add to the card.

I hope you can easily follow these steps and take this simple card and step it up as much as you like.

Floral Friday: Boho Indigo Medley

For todays Floral Friday I’ve pulled out the Boho Indigo Product Medley to work with. The product medleys are boxes of full of crafting goodies which all co-ordinate meaning your creative options are endless. Just look how much product comes in the box:

Boho Indigo Products

To work along with the product medley I’ve pulled some Night of Navy, Whisper white and a touch of Shaded Spruce cardstock, some gold foil cardstock the Hippo & Friends dies to use the various frame shapes and some jewel embellishments.

Boho Indigo Card 1

I think the best and most fun way to work with the medleys is to stamp and die cut loads items first and then see what works well together, as its all matching you can’t really go wrong.

Boho Indigo card 2

I love how Stampin’ Up! have even made the sentiments match, “Sorry You’re Feeling Blue” just works so well with these producst doesn’t it.

Boho Indigo card 3

My favourite thing in the whole product medley is these large gold floral die cuts, they look stunning with a Night of Navy Rhinestone in the middle and really make this simple card pop. I would love a huge pile of these so  I could put them everywhere.

Todays Tiles Card Trio

I love how the stamps in the Todays Tiles set create intricate looking patterns which look like they’ve taken ages to stamp but in reality took just seconds. The trick with this stamp set is to use the Stamp-a-ratus to line up the stamps and then you will get perfect alighment everytime.

Todays Tiles Moonlight Card 1

I cut my Whisper White cardstock to fit the Stamp-a-ratus and then stamped a row of the base tiles in Seaside Spray. You can fit three blocks of stamped tiles on the Stamp-a-ratus if you start right near the right hand-side and then move two spaces across or down depending on which way you’ve lined up the stamp. I needed four blocks for these cards so did a second set of stamping on more cardstock.

Todays Tiles Moonlight card 2

After stamping the Seaside Spray layer I kept the stamp on the Stamp-a-ratus for my second batch of stamping but turned it over to add the detail stamp. Take time here to make sure you’ve lined up your stamp correctly and ensure the magnets have a firm hold on your paper as the slightnest nudge can throw the design off. I’ve stamped my detailed layer in Blackberry Bliss so it really stands out.

Todays Tiles Moonlight Card 3

I’ve used Misty Moonlight as a complimentary colour for these cards and used Blackberry Bliss for stamping the sentiments. Two of the sentiments were stamped onto dies from the Field Tiles die set which can be bought in a bundle with the Today’s Tiles stamp set.

I love how simple these cards were to create and look forward to playing with more colour combinations and designs soon.
