Floral Friday – Love and Affection

Today I am starting a new series called Floral Friday which will showcase all things floral in the catalogue as I love flower stamps and am eager to add all the new floral sets to my collection. This week I’m focusing on simple cards and the Love and Affection stamps set which is fast becoming one of my favourites. Here is a picture of all four cards I made together

loveandaffectionfridayfloral1As you can see I chose a colour scheme of Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo and Watermelon Wonder. I love how bright and summery these cards look. Here is a close up of each card individually

loveandaffectionfridayfloralcard3This was the first card I made using the new Layering Squares Framelits, which making a focal panel for the card was super simple. To embellish the card I just added sime of the Ruched Ribbon in Emerald Envy and the Watermelon Wonder Washi from the Affectionately Yours collection.

This time I went for an all-over stamped background and used the Decorative Label punch to add some pop to the sentiment. I think this was is actually my favourite of the four.

Again using the Laying Squares Framelits, just in a smaller size and finally

loveandaffectionfridayfloralcard1I’m not 100% on this one, originally this was going to be like the design above but it didn’t fit on the card. I’d stamped the flowers to overlap when all the squares were in a row but now I’ve moved them into a grid formation it doesn’t look as good.

As you can see this stamp set has  huge scope for super simple quick cards, next time I pull this set out I’m hoping to be a little more adventurous!

Watercolour Wash with Irresistably Floral Designer Paper

One of the things I love about the new Irresistably Floral Designer Paper is that you can colour it to fit any project you wish. For today’s card I couldn’t decide which colour combination to use so I made two versions, a blue/green one and a pink/peach one. Painter’s Palette Shaker Card

Now for anyone who has become familiar with the new 2016 – 2017 Annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue may recognise todays card:

painterspaletteshaker

Yes that’s right I’ve CASE’d it right from the catalogue example on p119. I’ve used a different colour scheme and substituted the black metallic twine for Melon Mambo thick baker’s twine.

I’ve wanted to try shaker cards since this catalogue launched as there are loads of fabulous products which make them quick and easy, especially the new sets of layering Framelits and the foam adhesive strips which seal up the sides super quick.

Here’s a close-up of the shaker part and as you can see I haven’t got the foam adhesive 100% correct as my sprinkles were sticking to the edges, any suggestions on how to improve this gratefully  received!

If you’d like to see the original card then click on the pdf link at the side or if you’d prefer to view in your own copy of the catalogue and  haven’t yet got a copy then drop me an email at:

Love You Lots…Hedgehogs

Today’s card features probably the cutest stamp set in the whole catalogue, Love You Lots. Now you might have missed this stamp set when browsing the catalogue because it is a hostess stamp set and is right at the back on page 199.

loveyoulotshedgehogcard

I stamped the cute little hedgehogs in Soft Suede and then coloured them in with the Clear Wink of Stella, this adds a watercolour effect with a lovely shimmer and is one of my favourite techniques at the moment. I masked off the hedgehogs then stamped the background line from Basket For You (another hostess set) in Pear Pizazz. The card was finished off with a panel of paper from the Pop of Pink dsp and some thick bakers twine in Melon Mambo.

June is the ideal month to get your hands on both of these stamp sets as Stampin’ Up! are giving every hostess with a party/order of over £250.00 an extra £25.00 of freebies, that means £50.00 altogether, which means you can buy both of these hostess sets and still have £29.00 to spend on other goodies, more if you choose the clear mount set.

Hello In-Colours 2016-2018

Firstly apologies for being missing for over a month, I think I under-estimated how busy I would be in May, we had birthday parties every weekend which left me with not much spare time and even less energy to create anything. So I’m very behind in working on my new catalogue goodies, most of which have sat in their box since the beginning of May.

The first finished cards I’ve made with my new products have been these little notecards featuring the new In-Colours, the new layering squares Framelits and the stamp set I was most drawn to when I first saw the catalogue, Blooms & Wishes.

incolourbloomandwishesnoetcardsEach card is 4″ square and is made using just one of the ink colours. I just love how I have been able to get three different shades of the same colour just by stamping off onto scrap paper once or twice before stamping onto my whisper white panel.

Which one is your favourite? Mine was the Dapper Denim version as you can see all the watercolour detail of the large flower really clearly.
