As a demonstrator I’ve been lucky enough to have these pens to play with for a month and I can honestly say I love them and I think they’re worth every penny. Above is an image I coloured the first day I received them and I’m no colouring expert but I love how this image turned out, look out for it featured in a card soon.

Here are links to all the colours currently available in the Stampin’ Up! Blends line, you can order individually, as a duo or as the full 27 marker set. The full set £108.00, the duos are £8.00 each and the individual markers are £4.00

Look out for plenty of examples using the new Stampin’ Blends over the next few weeks.

Fresh Fig Florals from Painted Harvest

Painted Harvest was one of those sets that passed me by on my initial looks through the Autumn/Winter catalogue but once I started seeing projects made by other demonstrators and customers I realised it’s definitely one I needed to have a play with. I think I was put off by this set because I’m not a huge fan of yellow so sunflowers aren’t my favourite flower. After having a good play around with this set I can say that most combinations of colours work well, even the purples like on this card.

To make this card I took a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 10cm x 14cm and sponged over it with Crumb Cake ink to give an aged look. Next I took the first sunflower stamp, the one with less detail and stamped randomly over my card in Sweet Sugarplum. I then stamped over these with the more detailed sunflower in Fresh Fig. I’m not entirely sure its lined up properly but I love how these flowers look. For the centres and the dotted detail I used Soft Suede. I added a few random dots with old olive to fill in the gaps.

The sentiment label was created from the blank label in Label Me Pretty. I used an Old Olive marker to ink just around the edge, so I didn’t have the extra swirls. I used Fresh Fig to stamp the greeting and the Pretty Label punch to cut out.

I added three rows of the Fresh Fig Sheer Ribbon for somewhere to ground the greetings label.

I also decorated the inside of the card with a couple more flowers. I really love how this card turned out, probably because its using my favourite colour Fresh Fig. I can’t wait to show you what else I’ve created with this set.

All Stars Male Birthday Card

Today I’ve got a masculine birthday card, I really struggle making these as I’m definitely a floral girl but I think this turned out ok. I used a combination of the Wood Words and Confetti Celebrations on this card. I really need to add some more birthday sentiments to my collection I think  as I only have a couple suitable for males.

I went with the colour combination of Dapper Denim, Cajun Craze and Wood which I think have worked well together. To make the Happy Birthday rectangle have a stitched edge you can use the stitched shape dies and do you clever cutting. I used the third biggest square on this project.

bigshottip1

To make the rectangle place the die on the bigshot but leave one edge over-hanging the cutting plates, if the die has no pressure it won’t cut. Run through the bigshot and then move the die along to the uncut side. To line up you can use the slight indentation the die edge has left on the cardstock. For the second run through just make sure the opposite side of the die is over hanging the cardstock.

To finish the card stamp and die cut some stars in Dapper Denim and Cajun craze and arrange randomly around the card front, allowing a couple to overlap the greetings panel.

Hope  you enjoyed this quick little project and join me tomorrow for more ideas using the World Card Making Day sale stamps.

Dragonfly Dreams Meets Star of Light

Hi Everyone,

If your anything like me then you are always looking for new ways to use stamp sets, I think this is particularly true for the Christmas themed sets which don’t get all year round use. Star of Light is a great example of a Christmas themed stamp set which can easily be used anytime of year and stars are a fairly versatile image.

For today’s card I took the large swirl stamp which is my favourite from this set and combined it with stamps from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set.

Here is the card I came up with:

wisteriadragronflyswirlcard

I chose to use Smoky Slate for the swirls and the little stars, which also come from the Star of Light set as I wanted to keep the background fairly pale.

I stamped the dragonfly wings with Wisteria Wonder and then stamped the whole dragonfly outline in Perfect Plum.

I added a greeting in the bottom left corner in Perfect Plum again and the card is done, quick simple and lovely.

Hope you like this card, do you have any more ideas for the Star of Light set?
