Thoughtful Branches Day 6 – Snowman Card

Today’s card was inspired by some leftover die cut pieces I had from my Autumnal thanks set of cards. I had the branches left over and then I had an ah-ha moment, can you guess what I thought…

That’s right… Snowman arms!

Here is the finished card all made with dies and punches apart from the clouds which were sponged with whisper white craft ink through a stencil made from the tree builder punch.

thoughtfulbranchessnowmanIsn’t he cute! As you can see the main parts of the snowman have been made using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlit set, because that’s what I have in my stash but the circle punches or the Layering Circle Framelits would work just as well. The eyes and nose were punched from the Sprinkles punch and the hat I just hand cut myself.

Remember, tomorrow is the last day to order the Thoughtful Branches promotion, so if you want this set hit the shop now button and place your order before its too late!

Thoughtful Branches Day5 – Sparkle Tree Card

Today’s card features the wonderful Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper, which I’ve only just got my hands on and boy do I love it! It’s so sparkly, I can see me ordering many, many packs of this stuff.

I simply created a 5″ square card base with Night of Navy, added a layer of the glimmer paper and another layer of Night of Navy cardstock. Tree was cut from inside the glimmer paper matt as I don’t want to waste any of this lovely paper. The thank you greeting, and stars were stamped in white craft and embossed with a mixture of white embossing powder and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. A little tip, when embossing with white powder on dark card always use your embossing buddy first to remove static, I didn’t here and it shows.

Thoughtful Branches day 4 – Autumnal Thanks Card Set

I’m really loving playing with the Thoughtful Branches set, it really is a versatile set, one which isn’t going to be around for much longer so go and grab yourself a set now before its gone.  Here’s todays collection of cards:

This is probably the first time I’ve used Cajun Craze as it’s not been a colour I’ve been drawn to but surprisingly I’m loving this rich autumnal colour. All of these cards were created using a sheet of hand-stamped designer paper, I stamped the leaves in Cajun Craze and Delightful Dijon with hints of Old Olive in the smaller leaves.

This was the first card I made, I simply added some designer paper from the Serene Scenery pack and some linen thread  to the stamped panel.

This card uses the Layering Oval Thinlits and a small strip of the designer paper.

On this card I have added some of the lovely burlap ribbon and some diecut leaves from the Beautiful Branches set, they were just cut off the large branch die cut.

Finally my favourite card from today and yes that sentiment stamps is brand new from the Holiday catalogue and is available next week!

Thoughtful Branches Day 3 – Winter Scene Card

For todays card I wanted to create a wintery card suitable for any occasion, here is what I came up with:

thoughtfulbrancheswinteroval

I started by cutting out the largest scalloped oval in Pool Party and the largest smooth oval in Whisper White. I torn some scrap paper and masked off an area for the snow at the bottom of the scene. To make the moon in the background I stuck some washi tape on scrap paper, punched out with the 1/2″ circle punch and then stuck down on the background.

I created the background by sponging on fist a layer of Pool Party Ink followed by a very light layer of Island Indigo. I then took removed the washi tape circle and then stamped the three tree stamp in black archival ink.

I created a card blank from Pool Party cardstock and then embossed a panel of Whisper White  cardstock with the Softly Falling Textured Impression Embossing Folder. I then finished the card off with a length of Pool Party Stitch Satin ribbon.

I really love how this card tuned out.

Thoughtful Branches Day 2 – Four Seasons Notecards

Today I’m featuring a set of four notecards I have made based on the four seasons which can be made so easily with the Thoughtful Branches stamp set and Beautiful Branches thinlits. Here is a picure of all four cards together:

thoughtfulbranchesfourtreesAs you can see they all use the tree outline die as a basis for the tree in Soft Suede cardstock and then for Spring, Summer and Autumn I have just stamped a different coloured tree top depending on the season.

thoughtfulbranchesspringFor the Spring leaves I used a base of Pink Pirouette ink and then over stamped in Blushing Bride, the grass is Emerald Envy and the birds have been stamped in Early Expresso.

thoughtfulbranches4summerFor the Summer tree the leaves were stamped in Mint Macaron and then over stamped in Emerald Envy and the apple are of course…Cherry Cobbler.

thoughtfulbranches4autumnFor the Autumn card, which I think is my favourite the base leaves were stamped with Delightful Dijon and then a layer of Cajun Craze. The birds were stamped again with Cherry Cobbler.

thoughtfulbranches4wintertreeThe Winter card is probably one of the easiest cards I’ve ever made but I still like the simplicity of it. It’s simply the Soft Suede die cut placed on the stamped background of Soft Suede.

I thought about adding a greeting to these cards but I decided o leave them super simple, what do you think?

That’s all for today,
