Floral Friday: Wood Words and Lots to Love Card Set

These cards were inspired by a challenge set by my upline in our Facebook group, the challenge was to create something floral, a challenge I can definitely get onboard with. I pulled out the Lots of Love stamp set as this is one I bought back in October and its yet to see any ink.

I wanted to use the big bold Sending Lots of Love greeting as that’s one reason why I bought this set. As I wanted this greeting to be the focal point I did struggle a bit when coming up with a background idea. I then decided to pull out Wood Words and the beautiful floral background stamp in that set.

I stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink as I was planning to use the Stampin’ Blends on this card somewhere. I picked out the Dark Bermuda Bay and the Light Old Olive to highlight the flowers and some leaves on my stamped background. It has been so long since I used Bermuda Bay, it was right at the bottom of my inkpad pile. I’m not sure why I don’t use it more it such bright deep turquoise colour, I think it could be appearing again very soon.

I added the group of three flowers in the bottom left corner to give some more detail to the cards, notice they all have matching coloured gems for their centres? As Stampin’ blends are alcohol markers you can colour more than just card with them, so if you have the Metallic Enamel Shapes you can make them any colour you like.

So which is your favourite? I think the Bermuda Bay one is my favourite, there something quite striking about Bermuda Bay and Black as a colour combination.

Until next time,

Razzleberry Flowers Birthday Card using the Stampin’ Blends

For today’s card I wanted to do some colouring with the new Stampin’ Blends so pulled out the Color Me Happy stamp set which was also released last week. This stamp set has plenty of images to colour so is the perfect partner for the Blends.

It’s feels like ages since I made a card with any flowers on and as you know I love my flowers, so I pulled out the cute little flower stamp. I took a piece of Whisper White Thick cardstock measuring 9.5cm x 13.3cm and randomly stamped the flower all over.  Continue reading “Razzleberry Flowers Birthday Card using the Stampin’ Blends”

Poinsettia Style Card with Painted Harvest

For today’s project I have another card using the Painted Harvest stamp set, I was inspired by looking at Poinsettia’s and was originally going to make a Christmas card, however when I added the Pear Pizzazz card base I felt it would be better as a birthday card.  Continue reading “Poinsettia Style Card with Painted Harvest”

Fresh Fig Florals from Painted Harvest

Painted Harvest was one of those sets that passed me by on my initial looks through the Autumn/Winter catalogue but once I started seeing projects made by other demonstrators and customers I realised it’s definitely one I needed to have a play with. I think I was put off by this set because I’m not a huge fan of yellow so sunflowers aren’t my favourite flower. After having a good play around with this set I can say that most combinations of colours work well, even the purples like on this card.

To make this card I took a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 10cm x 14cm and sponged over it with Crumb Cake ink to give an aged look. Next I took the first sunflower stamp, the one with less detail and stamped randomly over my card in Sweet Sugarplum. I then stamped over these with the more detailed sunflower in Fresh Fig. I’m not entirely sure its lined up properly but I love how these flowers look. For the centres and the dotted detail I used Soft Suede. I added a few random dots with old olive to fill in the gaps.

The sentiment label was created from the blank label in Label Me Pretty. I used an Old Olive marker to ink just around the edge, so I didn’t have the extra swirls. I used Fresh Fig to stamp the greeting and the Pretty Label punch to cut out.

I added three rows of the Fresh Fig Sheer Ribbon for somewhere to ground the greetings label.

I also decorated the inside of the card with a couple more flowers. I really love how this card turned out, probably because its using my favourite colour Fresh Fig. I can’t wait to show you what else I’ve created with this set.

Leafy Green Thinking of You Card

Today I’m sharing a card made with the Count My Blessings stamp set, one I bought for the font and beautiful sentiment. I love a good cursive font and this one is gorgeous.  I’ve gone for a very simple design which can easily be altered to fit any occasion or stamp set.

I pulled out the Painted Autumn DSP to work with this stamp set, one because it woks well with it and two it is very autumnal here with lots mist and quite eerie light outside. I choose the green paper as I wanted to add the bow with my new Garden Green Stitched Satin Ribbon, which has to be my favourite style of Stampin’ Up! ribbon ever made, I’m still in mourning over the loss of the Blackberry Bliss version.

I’ve even decorated the inside of this one with a layer of Very Vanilla and some extra Garden Green leaves.  Hope you can join me again tomorrow for another autumn inspired card.
