I love the new Detailed Heart Die and have seensome gorgeous cards made with it, check out Pintrest if you don’t believe me! Today I’m sharing three cards I’ve made using the inlay technique where you add some of the die-cut off cuts back into the orginal die cut. I love doing this as I find it very calming and thearputic, something which is much needed in this household at this time of year.
This first card was very quick to put together using a Merry Merlot card base and a single Gold Foil die cut of the Deatiled Hearts Die, I left this one I’m empty so you can see what a great die this is all on its own. I simple greeting from the Heart to Heart stamp set stamped in Merry Merlot and punched out with the Story Label Punch and the card is done.
For the second card I used Very Vanilla as a card base and added Pretty Peacock into the colour scheme also. I used Gold Foil again to cut my main die image but also cut a one from Merry Merlot and Pretty Peacock. I then inlaid some of the left over heart back into their slots on the gold foil outline. I’ve used some old Multipurpose adhesive sheets to stick my die cuts down, this makes the techinque nice and clean as your basically just playing with stickers.
For my final card today I used Very Vanilla as a card base again but used Merry Merlot as my outline die colour. I then filled in every heart space with either Merry Merlot, Pretty Peacok or Gold Foil. I love how this card turned out, I think adding Pretty Peacock into the mix has made the card elegant and suitable to give to anyone.
Hope this has inspired you to pull out the Detailed Hearts Die and have a play.
