Candy Cane Lane Village Card

Today’s card was made using the Candy Cane Designer paper as a focus and was super quick to make. I took the paper with the little gingerbread houses and cut three out to form the main focus point.

The background was created using the Softly Falling Textured embossing folder and some Whisper White cardstock. I then finished the card off with some of the gorgeous stitched grosgrain ribbon in real red and a greeting from the Star of Light stamp set which has been cut out using the Bunch of Banners Framelits.

My Stampin’ Up! Story

Recently in our team we have been discussing what made us join Stampin’ Up! so today I’m going to share my story with you. Having a heart condition I’ve always done less energetic activities and have loved paper and stamps as long as I could remember.

I first heard about Stampin’ Up! back in 2007 before it was even available in the UK and I was instantly hit by how evening matched, having been trying to match ink to paper and embellishments for years this was something that I NEEDED to have. I waited patiently with my fingers crossed until the summer of 2008 when Stampin’ Up! had hit the UK. I’d found a demonstrator whose blog I’d been following for a few months and signed up, yes I hadn’t even tried the products I just knew I wanted them. Continue reading “My Stampin’ Up! Story”

September Customer Thank You Cards using Paisleys & Petals

Today’s card is one some of you may be receiving in the post today, its my September thank you card, which has been sent to everyone who shopped with me this month to say thank you for choosing me as your Demonstrator.

paisleythankyoumain.jpg

I chose to use the Paisleys & Posies stamp set which is fast becoming one of my favourites and one which I’m hoping makes it to next years catalogue. Its such a versatile set and with the matching Framelits set you could play for hours.

I made the three medallions by stamping three each of the shapes in Rich Razzleberry, Delightful Dijon and Mint Macaron. I then die cut these with the matching Framelits and also die cut three small circles in the copper foil which I also adore!

Here is a close up of the medallions:

paisleythankyoucloseup.jpg

I made the card base out of Mint Macaron and used some of the Rich Razzleberry patterned paper from the Petals & Paisleys speciality dsp matted on some copper foil as a base for the medallions.

The greeting comes from the same stamp set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White and then cut it into a banner using my scissors.

Want to receive one of my thank you cards next month, then simply place an order of any amount with me and I’ll send you one as a thank you.

Christmas Tree Three – #PCC013

Today I decided to join in with the Pootles Colour Challenge #0013. The colours for this week are: Cherry Cobbler, Emerald Envy, Mint Macaron and Chocolate Chip. These colours just scream Christmas to me so I chose to use the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set and matching Framelits as there are loads of possibilities with this stamp set. So here is what I came up with:

pcc013.jpg

I used a base of Mint Macaron and a matt of Cherry Cobbler to start with, followed by a layer of Whisper White. I stamped three of the Christmas trees in Chocolate Chip ink onto Emerald Envy cardstock and then cut then out with the matching die and the bigshot machine.

I wanted to just layer the trees onto the Whisper White layer but it looked a little flat so I added a background of stars stamped in Mint Macaron. I stamped the greeting in Chocolate Chip ink onto Mint Macaron cardstock which I then cut into a strip to fit across the card. I added a little embellishment with some Emerald envy enamel stars which I love.

Hope you like it

Pootles Design Team – My Hero Week 5

14088395_10153745365531603_281310922678395855_n

So its my last week on the Pootles Design Team and I decided to  stretch myself and make a box. If you’d been in my house this weekend you’d know just how much this has stretched me, I am NOT a person whose brain works in 3D. Anyway I managed to make a box and I even have instructions for you to make your own version of what is actually a very simple project.

pootlesdesignteammyherowk5main.jpg

I just adore this cute little snowman from the Christmas Magic stamp set and thought he worked brilliantly with the Christmas sentiment from the My Hero set.  Here is the box with the inner part peeping out so you can see in more detail.

pootlesdesignteammyherowk5open.jpg

So here’s how to make the box, first you will need a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 20 x 14.5 cm, a piece of Cherry Cobbler measuring 10.5 x 21.4 cm and finally if you want to decorate like I did a piece of dsp measuring 10.5 x 18.4cm

pootles designteammyherowk5paper.jpg

To make the outer sleeve of the box take the Cherry Cobbler cardstock and score vertically at 8.2 cm, 10.2cm and 18.4cm, which should look like this (score lines are the black dotted lines).

pdtmyherowk5cherrycobbler.jpg

Fold over all the score lines and then run SNAIL adhesive down the small edge on the right hand side. Now fold over to create the sleeve.

Next take the Whisper White card and score vertically at 8cm. 10cm and 18cm.

Then score horizontally at 2cm and 12.5cm. So you should have the following score lines:

Next take your scissors and cut along the red lines as shown above. So you should be left with this once you have cut off two of the corners.

Turn the card so the outside edge is on top and the place SNAIL adhesive on the two small flaps and the first two long strips. Fold the two smallest flaps onto the other glued strips and then fold the other side up on the outside. So you should be left with a box which looks like this:

pdtmyherowk5boxes.jpg

Your now ready to decorate your box anyway you want. I took my piece of 10.5 x 18.4cm dsp and cut it into four strips. Two measuring 7.7cm x 10.5cm and two measuring 1.5 x 10.5cm. I then stuck these to each side of the cherry cobbler sleeve. The white box just slips inside the sleeve so doesn’t need decorating.

So back to the My Hero stamp set and how I made the topper. First I cut out the largest scalloped oval Framelits in Cherry Cobbler and then the oval which fitted inside in Whisper White. I took the greeting from the My Hero set and used Emerald Envy and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Markers to colour different parts of the greeting. I love doing this as it really adds interest to the greeting. I then stamped the snowman from Christmas Magic in black archival ink and coloured with markers. I finished off the whole project by wrapping some 1/8″ gold ribbon around the box and securing on top underneath where I stuck on my topper panel.

So here is the finished project again.

I hope you have enjoyed my Pootles Design Team projects as much I have enjoyed making them. Next week its the turn of the October team with a new stamp set so be sure to pop across to www.pootles.com to check them out and come back here to see what I’ve been creating with some other products.
