The Kits Collection by Stampin’ Up! launches today!!

You may have noticed in the new catalogue that our kits are going to be sold a little differently, online only. This is so you can see instantly what kits are available and will no longer be disappointed by backordered products. Another huge benefit to selling kits this way is the prdocut line can be updated much easier and more frequently, meaning more creative options for everybody.

Today is launch day for these kits and you can find all the current ones available by clicking here and selecting Kits Collection.

Another exciting thing in the new Kits Collection is non-stamping kits so if you’re brand new to crafting and not ready to take the stamping plunge simply try a kit with gorgeous Stampin’ Up! artwork already created for you, my personal favourite of these is the Notes of Cheer Kit with the delicate butterfly diecuts.

Hope you get chance to take a look and maybe try one out yourself.

Back to Back Blooms Birthday Duo

I’ve got two cards today featuring the Back to Back Blooms stamp set from the January to June Mini Catalogue. This is one of our Reversibles stamp sets which means you can use both sides of the stamp to stamp. As these images are not symmetrical the back and front image won’t line up completly but will complement each other, perfect for when you’re stamping flowers.

I’ve kept to using Black, white and Magenta Madness for both cards. This first one uses Black as the outline and Magenta Madness as the background stamp.

After I’d stamped my background Magenta Madness image on the first card I re-stamped on a second piece of cardstock to create a lighter shade for this card. I then used full strength Magenta Madness for the outline.

The greeting comes from the Seaside Notions stamp set which is one the retiring list and I stamped this with White Craft Ink onto an Everyday Label.

I love the simplicity of the Back to Back Blooms stamp set, plus its a floral set which are always my favourites. Can’t wait to have more of a play with this one.

Subway Art Birthday Card

I’ve wanted to make one of these subway art style cards for a while and today I have to make a birthday card for my godson, so it seemed the perfect opportunity to try it out.

I’ve used the Family Party stamp set for the numbers and stars. This stamp set is on the retiring list but I higly recommend you grab it while you can, especially if you make a lot of cards featuring numbers or for family memebers. As a heads up there is nothing similar in the new catalogue.

Firstly I took a piece of Very Vanailla cardstock and gave it a very light layer of Sahara Sand using a Blending Brush, concentrating on the edges. I then took Real Red to add the numbers, Misty Moonlight to add the Happy Birthday and Mango Melody to add the stars.

The Happy Birthday greeting comes from the new stamp set Party Puffins which will be in the new catalogue released on May 4th.

Once all the stamping was complete I ran the sheet through the Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing folder and the adhered to a layer of Real Red cardstock before adding to my Very Vanilla card base.

I hope my godson likes it and that I can give him this card in person as I haven’t actually seen him since he was 10!
