So here it is my first Christmas card of 2016 and what a cute stamp set to use Merry Mice. its so adorable!

I used a base of Cherry Cobbler which has to be my favourite colour to use at Christmas and paired it with a matt of Crumb Cake which I embossed with the Woodgrain embossing folder. The mouse image was stamped onto watercolour paper and then coloured in using inks and the aqua painter. I then used the Layering Ovals Framelits to cut the image out and matt onto a Cherry Cobbler scalloped oval.
The greetings banner was created using the Birthday Banners stamp set and the Bunch of Banners Framelits, I think the greeting from the Merry Mice set fits in perfectly.
I finished off the card with some White Perfect Accents which I just love for adding a little something to finish off a card.

Here is a close up of the stamp from the My Hero set which was used as my focal point. I stamped it in Cherry Cobbler and then cut away the outer border. To make the gold layer I heat embossed the image in clear powder on the gold foil and cut it out, a simpler way would have been to use the Best Badge punch, but I don’t have this my collection…..yet!
Here is a final photo of the card laid flat. I’m really loving the challenge of focusing on one stamp set and have more ideas than I thought I would, so go challenge yourselves to create a few different cards using one set, its fun!
As you can see they all use the tree outline die as a basis for the tree in Soft Suede cardstock and then for Spring, Summer and Autumn I have just stamped a different coloured tree top depending on the season.
For the Spring leaves I used a base of Pink Pirouette ink and then over stamped in Blushing Bride, the grass is Emerald Envy and the birds have been stamped in Early Expresso.
For the Summer tree the leaves were stamped in Mint Macaron and then over stamped in Emerald Envy and the apple are of course…Cherry Cobbler.
For the Autumn card, which I think is my favourite the base leaves were stamped with Delightful Dijon and then a layer of Cajun Craze. The birds were stamped again with Cherry Cobbler.
The Winter card is probably one of the easiest cards I’ve ever made but I still like the simplicity of it. It’s simply the Soft Suede die cut placed on the stamped background of Soft Suede.
