Happy 10th Anniversary Card

This year one of my best friends is celebrating her 10th wedding anniversary so I wanted to make her a special card, the Milestone Moments stamps from the Spring/Summer Catalogue is perfect for this kind of occasion.

I chose Pink Pirouette for the card base and embossed the front half of the card using the beautiful Falling Petals Textured Impressing Embossing Folder, don’t the petals look like tiny little love hearts?

To create a focal point for the card I took one of the Lace Doilies from the Spring/Summer catalogue, I love these because one side is Very Vanilla and the other side is Whisper White which makes them super versatile. I chose the Very Vanilla side to complement the Satin Ribbon that I used for the bow.

I die cut a circle from the Layering Circles Framelits and the Stitched Shape Framelits in Very Vanilla and Pink Pirouette. The greeting taken from the Milestone Moments stamp set was stamped in Soft Suede.

I think this is lovely simple card and I hope my friend and her husband like it.

Floral Friday: Glimmer Flower Thank You Cards

One of the most popular freebiesfrom this years Sale-A-Bration has been the glimmer paper pack. This pack includes 12 sheets of glimmer paper in three gorgeous shades of Sweet Sugarplum, Bermuda Bay and Mint Macaron. This stuff is just stunning and a little bit really makes your card “pop”.

The photo really doesn’t do these cards justice as that little bit of glimmer just makes these cards that little bit more special. I used the wave die from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits as a trellis base for my little flowers.

The little flowers were created from the Botanical Builder Framelits in Whisper White and the lovely glimmer paper.

The cards were finished with a little greeting from the One Big Meaning stamp set.

Which is your favourite colour ? I think mine is the Mint Macaron version, I know I’m going to really miss this colour when it leaves us at the end of May. If you love this colour or any of the 2015 – 2017 In-Colours then now is the time to stock up as these products will be leaving in just over two months and nearly always sell out fast.

Hey Chicken, Chicken Shed Card

Today I’m using the Hey, Chick stamp set which is available as Sale-a-Bration freebie for just 10 more days, so if you like it get those orders in. This wasn’t a stamp set which originally grabbed me but after seeing some wonderful projects its a set which has grown on me and one I’ll miss playing with after Sale-a-Bration ends.

cjickenshedcard

Originally I was just going to have one chick peeping through the window, but how could I leave out the other two chickens as they all have such cute characters. Each chick was stamped with black archival ink and then coloured with the watercolour pencils and blender pens. They were then fussy cut out which was tricky but worth it I think…all chicks did loose there feet in this process though!

The background was created by stamping the Hardwood stamp in Soft Suede onto a base of Tip Top Taupe, which is not a colour I have used very much at all. The window was cut with the 5.5cm diameter circle from the layering circles Framelits.

I attached the chick behind the window and the placed a layer of window sheet behind them to create the window pane.

The little greetings sign was created by cutting the sign shape from the Build It Framelits out of the circle of card  which was leftover from the window. The greeting was added with Early Expresso so it stood out and the marks at the sides are supposed to be nail heads but didn’t quite work as I wanted.

I love this fun little card and hope you do to.

Mum’s 60th Birthday Card featuring Botanical Blooms

It’s been quite a while since I’ve done any crafting, I just haven’t felt inspired recently despite having loads of gorgeous products to play with. Anyway it was my mum’s 60th birthday this weekend and I knew I wanted to make a special card for her that showed I cared, so I got out the Botanical Blooms Stamp Set and matching Framelits and had a real good play making all kinds of flowers. Here is the card I came up with

botancialbloomsmumbirrthdaycard

I really love how this card turned out and can highly recommend the Botanical Builder Framelits for bringing back you mojo if its gone walkabout. The colour scheme I chose came from the Falling In Love DSP which is just gorgeous, I need more before this catalogue ends. Along with Sugarplum and Very Vanilla I used the gold foil cardstock and some Mint Macaron as an accent colour.

On the inside I just stamped a boarder along the bottom using the flowers from Botanical builders and the leaf stamp comes from Blooms and Wishes, which had to be part of the card as its my favourite set. The greeting in the card comes from Balloon Adventures.

The card base was an 8″ x 8″ one which I had in my stash from my pre Stampin Up days. You could make a similar one using two sheets of Thick Whisper White and joining together.

I’m pleased to report my mum loved her card and I hope you did too.

Floral Friday: Sealed With Love Friendship Cards

Initially when I planned this focus week I wasn’t going to write my Floral Friday post as I wasn’t sure if it would work, but surprisingly these floral themed cards were just screaming at me to be made. Which I guess shows just how versatile Stampin’ Up! stamp sets really can be. Continue reading “Floral Friday: Sealed With Love Friendship Cards”
