Daisy Delight Notecards

Following on from yesterday’s post I decided to make a set of notecards to fit in my cute little bag. I love how easy these were to create, just a few quick layers and a touch of stamping and you have a lovely set of notecards which would make a lovely gift.

I chose to use the same die combination as yesterday to help tie the two projects together (the largest stitched shape square and second largest scalloped square) but decided to use the smaller daisy stamps as the large stamp felt too big against this gorgeous paper.

I stamped the daisy outlines first in Calypso Coral and Night of Navy and then to fill in I stamped off the colour once on scrap paper. I love how the inside part of the daisy is slightly bigger which means when you cut them out they still look great.

The Daisy Delight stamp set and everything from the new catalogue will be available to purchase tomorrow…yay!

Delightful Daisy Thank You for #TGIFC0108

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s challenge over at TGIF Challenges, this new discovery for me,  is a card-making challenge blog and one I can joining in with more in the future. This week’s challenge was to take inspiration from the sketch provided.

_TGIFC108

I love that this was a simple sketch as it meant my card came together very quickly. I decided to use the new Delightful Daisy stamp set and co-ordinating dsp from the new catalogue, both of which I really love.

As a starting point I decided to use the paper with the large muted daisies on as this is the pattern which I like least in this pack as its a little busy for my tastes. I think used as a matt here it works really well though.

I stamped the large daisy in Daffodil Delight to try it to the background paper and stamped the Thank You greeting in Tranquil Tide to create a focal point.

A little Tranquil Tide ribbon just finishes the card off.

If you fancy having a go at this challenge or want to see the other creations then pop over to TGIF Challenges and take a look.

The Delightful Daisy products will be available to order next week on June 1st.

Sneak Peak: Happy Birthday Gorgeous

One of my favourite stamp sets from the new catalogue is Happy Birthday Gorgeous, it combines my two favourite things birthday stamps and flowers and I can see myself using it a lot. As a demonstrator we are able to order certain products early, imagine how I excited I was that this set was one of them, along with the matching and utterly gorgeous Happy Birthday Thinlits die.

Today’s project is a super quick one as its been my son’s birthday today so we’ve spent all weekend celebrating and I’ve had little time to craft.

The card background was created using two of the flower stamps. First I stamped the outlines in Berry Burst and the stamped the centres in Powder Pink, I love how good these two colours look together.  The stamps themselves have little arrows on which makes lining them up easy.

To create the greeting I used the new Happy Birthday Thinlit cut out of Tranquil Tide, this is prefect for creating a quick focal point to any birthday card. I mounted the greeting on the largest oval from the Stitched Shape Framelits and finished the card off with a layer of Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon which I’ve ruched up.

Hope you enjoyed this quick look at some of the new products coming June 1st.

Floral Friday: Bye Bye Botanical Blooms

Botanical Blooms is a fairly recent purchase for me and one I was really hoping was going to carry over but sadly that’s not the case. It’s definitely one of the sets that I will not be parting with as its perfect for any kind of floral card which as you know I love. If you’ve not picked it up yet I’d highly recommend it.

Today I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to create so I just grabbed the botanical blooms and a selection of inks and just started building up a design. One of my favourite things about Stampin’ Up! is that no matter what colours you pick they all just seem to work together so you can’t really go wrong. Here is what I created:

botanicalbloomsbluescard

This card has a Marina Mist base with Soft Sky and Dapper Denim added to create the flowers. The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive and looking at this it might be time to re-ink my Pear Pizzazz ink pad. The greeting which is stamped in Dapper Denim comes from the One Big Meaning stamp set. I finished this card off with a little Ruched Ribbon in Dapper Denim.

I make a second card with a purple colour scheme using Rich Razzleberry as the card base and adding Sweet Sugarplum and the new Fresh Fig as additional colours for the flowers. As the Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon has already sold out I decided to use some enamel dots as embellishment for this card.

Which is your favourite blue or purple, I think the blue version has a slight edge but that could be because I’ve remembered what a lovely blue Marina Mist is.

Floral Friday: Girly Eastern Palace Card

Today I wanted to show you that the Eastern Palace Suite can even look good in more pastel colours and have a more girly look than what originally springs to mind when you look at this suite.

easternpalacefloralfridaycard

I choose to base this card around this piece of dsp which I have from the Playful Palette Stack so I choose a colour scheme of just Whisper White With Blushing Bride which makes for a very soft floral look.

These flowers were created by using the star shaped stamp from Eastern Beauty and stamping tone on tone with Blushing Bride. I then added one of the smaller flourishes to the petals to give a little more detail. Here is a close up photo

easternpalacefloralfridaycloseup

The shape was cut using both the outline die and the inner star shaped die from the Eastern Medallions set, so the inner part of the petals popped out a little. I really love this effect.

I finished off my flowers by adding a Blushing Bride enamel dot to the centres and popping then on my pattern paper using Stampin’ Dimensional’s.

The lovely greeting comes from the Eastern Beauty stamp set also, I really love the font of these sentiments, it really adds to the girly feel I wanted for the card.
