Magical Unicorn Birthday Card

This card was made from the Leave A Little Sparkle stamp set for one of my friends little girls who is unicorn mad, I think she will like it as the whole party was unicorn themed and had a very similar colour scheme.

First I created the background using the new Fluid 100 watercolour paper, which I think makes blending much easier than our previous watercolour paper. I spritzed the whole of my watercolour paper with water then used a mix of Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay and Mint Macaron to make a striped ombre effect background. I then used my heat tool to completely dry the background.

I added a couple of swirls to the background in Versamark which have shown up in the photo above and also added a greeting from Magical Mermaid in Rich Razzleberry.

I then stamped the unicorn in Tuxedo Black Memento onto Shimmery White cardstock, which sadly doesn’t show up. I then coloured the mane, tail and hooves with a mix of dark Stampin’ Blends in Mint Macaron, Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry. A touch of Wink of Stella was added to the unicorn horn to add extra sparkle.

To embellish the card I used the now retired Twinkle, Twinkle Adhesive stars but you could also use the Iridescent Sequins or the Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins for a similar effect.

I love this card and can’t wait to play around creating different coloured versions, I’m thinking Lovely Lipstick, Pumpkin Pie and Mango Melody would work well for a firey unicorn cards.
