Floral Friday: Sweet Sugarplum Flowers using Botanical Builder Framelits

Today’s card was inspired from the leftovers of when I made my mum’s 60th birthday card a couple of weeks ago. I love how leftovers from one project can flow straight onto the next project, that’s probably why I’m very bad at tidying my desk up.

The background paper comes from the Succulent Garden ds which is one of my favourite packs this year, probably because it has Mint Macaron and Sweet sugarplum in it.  All the flowers and leaves were created using whisper white cardstock and cut from the Botanical Builders Framelits. To make them look a little softer I inked the edges with Sweet Sugarplum ink and the stamping sponges. To make the sponges go further I always cut them into quarters before use so I can have four colours from one sponge.

The greetings panel was created exactly the same as my card from Monday using the Stitched Shape Framelits and the Layering Circles Framelits over the top of a doily. The sentiment is from the Butterfly Basics stamps set which is one where I should use more than just the lovely sentiment stamps.

The lace doilies from the Spring/Summer catalogue and the Sweet Sugarplum enamel shapes in the flower centres just add a bit of embellishment.

Floral Friday: Glimmer Flower Thank You Cards

One of the most popular freebiesfrom this years Sale-A-Bration has been the glimmer paper pack. This pack includes 12 sheets of glimmer paper in three gorgeous shades of Sweet Sugarplum, Bermuda Bay and Mint Macaron. This stuff is just stunning and a little bit really makes your card “pop”.

The photo really doesn’t do these cards justice as that little bit of glimmer just makes these cards that little bit more special. I used the wave die from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits as a trellis base for my little flowers.

The little flowers were created from the Botanical Builder Framelits in Whisper White and the lovely glimmer paper.

The cards were finished with a little greeting from the One Big Meaning stamp set.

Which is your favourite colour ? I think mine is the Mint Macaron version, I know I’m going to really miss this colour when it leaves us at the end of May. If you love this colour or any of the 2015 – 2017 In-Colours then now is the time to stock up as these products will be leaving in just over two months and nearly always sell out fast.

Mum’s 60th Birthday Card featuring Botanical Blooms

It’s been quite a while since I’ve done any crafting, I just haven’t felt inspired recently despite having loads of gorgeous products to play with. Anyway it was my mum’s 60th birthday this weekend and I knew I wanted to make a special card for her that showed I cared, so I got out the Botanical Blooms Stamp Set and matching Framelits and had a real good play making all kinds of flowers. Here is the card I came up with

I really love how this card turned out and can highly recommend the Botanical Builder Framelits for bringing back you mojo if its gone walkabout. The colour scheme I chose came from the Falling In Love DSP which is just gorgeous, I need more before this catalogue ends. Along with Sugarplum and Very Vanilla I used the gold foil cardstock and some Mint Macaron as an accent colour.

On the inside I just stamped a boarder along the bottom using the flowers from Botanical builders and the leaf stamp comes from Blooms and Wishes, which had to be part of the card as its my favourite set. The greeting in the card comes from Balloon Adventures.

The card base was an 8″ x 8″ one which I had in my stash from my pre Stampin Up days. You could make a similar one using two sheets of Thick Whisper White and joining together.

I’m pleased to report my mum loved her card and I hope you did too.
