My Stampin’ Up! Story

Recently in our team we have been discussing what made us join Stampin’ Up! so today I’m going to share my story with you. Having a heart condition I’ve always done less energetic activities and have loved paper and stamps as long as I could remember.

I first heard about Stampin’ Up! back in 2007 before it was even available in the UK and I was instantly hit by how evening matched, having been trying to match ink to paper and embellishments for years this was something that I NEEDED to have. I waited patiently with my fingers crossed until the summer of 2008 when Stampin’ Up! had hit the UK. I’d found a demonstrator whose blog I’d been following for a few months and signed up, yes I hadn’t even tried the products I just knew I wanted them. Continue reading “My Stampin’ Up! Story”

Christmas Tree Three – #PCC013

Today I decided to join in with the Pootles Colour Challenge #0013. The colours for this week are: Cherry Cobbler, Emerald Envy, Mint Macaron and Chocolate Chip. These colours just scream Christmas to me so I chose to use the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set and matching Framelits as there are loads of possibilities with this stamp set. So here is what I came up with:

pcc013.jpg

I used a base of Mint Macaron and a matt of Cherry Cobbler to start with, followed by a layer of Whisper White. I stamped three of the Christmas trees in Chocolate Chip ink onto Emerald Envy cardstock and then cut then out with the matching die and the bigshot machine.

I wanted to just layer the trees onto the Whisper White layer but it looked a little flat so I added a background of stars stamped in Mint Macaron. I stamped the greeting in Chocolate Chip ink onto Mint Macaron cardstock which I then cut into a strip to fit across the card. I added a little embellishment with some Emerald envy enamel stars which I love.

Hope you like it

Watercolour Wash with Irresistably Floral Designer Paper

One of the things I love about the new Irresistably Floral Designer Paper is that you can colour it to fit any project you wish. For today’s card I couldn’t decide which colour combination to use so I made two versions, a blue/green one and a pink/peach one. Painter’s Palette Shaker Card

Now for anyone who has become familiar with the new 2016 – 2017 Annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue may recognise todays card:

painterspaletteshaker

Yes that’s right I’ve CASE’d it right from the catalogue example on p119. I’ve used a different colour scheme and substituted the black metallic twine for Melon Mambo thick baker’s twine.

I’ve wanted to try shaker cards since this catalogue launched as there are loads of fabulous products which make them quick and easy, especially the new sets of layering Framelits and the foam adhesive strips which seal up the sides super quick.

Here’s a close-up of the shaker part and as you can see I haven’t got the foam adhesive 100% correct as my sprinkles were sticking to the edges, any suggestions on how to improve this gratefully  received!

If you’d like to see the original card then click on the pdf link at the side or if you’d prefer to view in your own copy of the catalogue and  haven’t yet got a copy then drop me an email at:

dibbystamps@gmail.com and I’ll pop one in the post to you.

Love You Lots…Hedgehogs

Today’s card features probably the cutest stamp set in the whole catalogue, Love You Lots. Now you might have missed this stamp set when browsing the catalogue because it is a hostess stamp set and is right at the back on page 199.

loveyoulotshedgehogcard

I stamped the cute little hedgehogs in Soft Suede and then coloured them in with the Clear Wink of Stella, this adds a watercolour effect with a lovely shimmer and is one of my favourite techniques at the moment. I masked off the hedgehogs then stamped the background line from Basket For You (another hostess set) in Pear Pizazz. The card was finished off with a panel of paper from the Pop of Pink dsp and some thick bakers twine in Melon Mambo.

June is the ideal month to get your hands on both of these stamp sets as Stampin’ Up! are giving every hostess with a party/order of over £250.00 an extra £25.00 of freebies, that means £50.00 altogether, which means you can buy both of these hostess sets and still have £29.00 to spend on other goodies, more if you choose the clear mount set.
