Birthday Pefection Card

The Approaching Perfection stamp set is another of our freebies for this Sale-A-Bration and it could be one you’ve overlooked as its on the same page as the gorgeous Oh So Ombre paper pack.

If you like quirky sentiments then this is the set for you. I tend to stick to the more traditional sentiments like I have with this card but I do like all of these.

I used Stampin’ Markers in Petal Pink, Real Red and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Markers to colour the stamp, to match this pattern from the Snail Mail DSP collection.

This birthday card is suitable for anyone so perfect to make when you need a super quick card.

Quick Bow Tie Card

Here is a quick card to make for those men in your life using the Handsomely Suited stamp set. Simply stamp, colour and cut.

I’ve used a skinny card base for this card measuring 14cm x 21cm, scored at 7cm, which fits the bow ties perfectly.

I’ve used Misty Moonlight, Daffodil Delight, Real Red and just Jade Stampin’ Blends but you could use whatever colour combination you like.

If the man in your life is more of a tie man then simply use the tie stamps instead.

Inspiration Tuesday: So Much Love

With the Get and Go! Promotion ending tomorrow I thought I’d share with you some inspiration for using one of the free stamp sets you will recieve if you join Stampin’ Up! before the end of the month. I’m show casing the So Much Love stamp set today as its one of my favourite kinds of stamp set. One because its floral and two its a stamp set with which has a lot of versalitility, which is great if you’re just starting out.

The first couple I’m going to show you are all based around the additional card packs you will recive in your starter kit this month.

The next couple use my favourite product Stampin’ Blends and some designer paper to enhance the cards:

These last few are more involved using heat embossing, embossing folders and fussy cutting.

I hope these samples have given you some inspiration for using the So Much Love stamp set. If you’d like to take advantage of the Get & Go Promotion and join Stampin’ Up! I’d love to have you on my team. Click on the join page above for more details or to sign straight up click here. Simple Sunflower Card with Jar of Flowers

Today I’m sharing a card which focuses on the Stampin’ Blends, I love these pens so much as they’re easy to blend even when your mixing colours. I’ve used them here to colour in the sunflower bouquet from the Jar of Flowers stamp set.

The sunflowers were coloured with a mix of So Saffron and Cinnamon Cider and the thistle leaves at the back were a mix of Smokey Slate and Just for that lovely silvery effect these leaves had. The thistle head itself was coloured with Dark Misty Moonlight mixed with Light Smokey Slate with a layer of Purple Posy over the top to give some lovely tonal colour.

My image was stamped onto a frame cut from the Ornate Layers die collection, I was worried this die cut would be too big for my card but its fits perfectly. The background paper comes from the Flowers For Every Season DSP Pack which has some great floral and neutral patterns.

To finish off the card I add a strip of the Just Jade Ribbon and a greeting from the Lots to Celebrate stamp set. This stamp set is the perfect companion to Jar of Flowers as it adds some sentiments and extra elemnts to use with the jars.

Case the Catalogue: Stitched Stars Dies

Today I’m casing the catalogue and sharing with you my simplified version of the Stampin’ Up! original found on page 97. I’ve pulled out my Stitched Stars dies as they haven’t seen any love in a while and paired them with the Playing With Patterns DSP.

The original card uses Silver Foil and embossing folders for texture as you can see below.

As you can see I kept to a blue base but used Night of Navy instead of Misty Moonlight and used Costal Cabana and Calypso Coral as my other colours. I left off the twine as I want a quick card which was easy to replicate for when you need those last minute birthday cards.

I also used the Pick A Label Punch (my current favourite product) to stamp my greeting on which came from the Rustic Retreat stamp set.

So which do you prefer the Stampin’ Up! original or my simplified version?
