Pastel Dragonfly Duo Card

I’ve struggled to use the Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ DSP as its bright and has a lot of busy feeling patterns. I’ve pulled it out today and I’m quite happy with the soft pastel effect I’ve managed to create.

I’ve used the palest pattern in the pack as a background and paired it with a colour scheme of Soft Sea Foam and Flirty Flamingo, with just a touch of Calypso Coral paper just to help the dragonflies pop.

The dragonflies are stamped in Flirty Flamingo, I’ve used the blender pen to add some colour to the bodies and then added some shimmer to the wings with Wink of Stella and some pearls to act as a trail behind the dragonflies.

Simply Circle Birthday Card

For todays card I’ve mixed up Circle Celebration, Swirly Frames and Pretty Perennials to make this simple birthday card.

I’ve used a mix of Blackberry Bliss, Coastal Cabana and Gray Granite which I think is a great colour combination.

I’ve fussy cut the “Happy” to give the card a little dimension but the rest is simple one-layered stamping.

Tropical True Love Thanks Card

Today I’ve taken a sheet of the True Love DSP from the Love You Always Suite and given it a tropical twist. I love this paper as its black and white so you can add you own colour to match anything else in your crafty stash.

To emphasize the tropical feel I’ve coloured the paper with Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron, Granny Apple, Pumpkin Pie, Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry and a little touch of Flirty Flamingo. I’ve left some of the flowers mostly white to add a little “pop” to the background.

To finish the card I’ve added a greeting stamped on labels from the Potted Succulents Dies and also a couple of Mint Macaron Springs to match the springs in the paper. I love how bright and colourful this card is and I’m pleased I’ve managed to get Pumpkin Pie onto a card!

Daffodil Tulips Card

Daffodil coloured Tulips, well why not! I don’t use yellow that much as I’m more of a pink/purple girl so today I used Daffodil Delight as my starting point and paired it with Granny Apple Green.

I’m loving seeing the daffodils in my garden but as we dont currently have any daffodil images I’m using Timeless Tulips.

I’ve simply stamped the tulip heads in Daffodil Delight, filling in the gaps with second generation stamping and then added some leaves and stems in Granny Apple Green. I’ve then added some punched out Tulips to add a little dimension.

I’ve added a length of Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon across the card to add my greeting label, I’m sad this ribbon is leaving us as its been one of my favourites ffrom this catalogue.

A simple card but think its sure to brighten someones day.

Sandy Beach Ice Cream Card

I’m back again today with another card featuring the Ice Cream Corner Suite, this time focusing on the Ice Cream Builder Punch and the Designer Paper. Included in the Ice Cream Corner DSP are four designs which work perfectly with the punch. The first is a design which is cross hatched and looks like ice cream cones, there are also three designs which have watercoloured splodges on them (beautiful as backgrounds) which when using the punch can become the scoops of ice cream. I really love how they’ve been designed to make crafting easy.

To make the sandy beach effact background I tore a matt of scrap paper and adhered it to the centre of the card base with one glue dot. I then took then Bending Brush and worked a layer of So Saffron ink all around the edges and the over the top with a layer of Crumb Cake, to add a little depth. Wish I hadn’t been quite so with the Crumb Cake as it now looks like mud, oh well!

I then added three punched ice-creamsto the centre of the card, looking at them now I think I should have given then some sprinkles.

I’ve finished the card off with a few Mango Melody Self Adhesive Sequins from the Artistry Blooms Collections and the Happy Birthday greeting from the set stamped in Blackberry Bliss. No joke I’d buy this stamp set for that Happy Birthday stamp alone as I love it!
