Subway Art Birthday Card

I’ve wanted to make one of these subway art style cards for a while and today I have to make a birthday card for my godson, so it seemed the perfect opportunity to try it out.

I’ve used the Family Party stamp set for the numbers and stars. This stamp set is on the retiring list but I higly recommend you grab it while you can, especially if you make a lot of cards featuring numbers or for family memebers. As a heads up there is nothing similar in the new catalogue.

Firstly I took a piece of Very Vanailla cardstock and gave it a very light layer of Sahara Sand using a Blending Brush, concentrating on the edges. I then took Real Red to add the numbers, Misty Moonlight to add the Happy Birthday and Mango Melody to add the stars.

The Happy Birthday greeting comes from the new stamp set Party Puffins which will be in the new catalogue released on May 4th.

Once all the stamping was complete I ran the sheet through the Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing folder and the adhered to a layer of Real Red cardstock before adding to my Very Vanilla card base.

I hope my godson likes it and that I can give him this card in person as I haven’t actually seen him since he was 10!

Vine Design Thinking of You Card

For today’s card I’ve pulled out the Flowering Vine Dies which coordinate with the Vine design stamp set, both from the January to June Mini Catalogue. I love how much detail they have in the three large dies and the overall fresh modern vibe with they have.

I’ve used Just Jade, Magenta Madness and Basic White for this card. I love how much the white background die stands out on the card and the Magenta Madness just adds a pop of colour.

A few Coastal Cabana Rhinestone for the flower centres and the card is done. I can’t wait to play with this set some more.

Butterfly Wishes Pastel Birthday Card

Today I’m sharing a quick and simple card made with the Butterfly Wishes stamp set, which is sadly on the retirement list. This is a recent purchase for me but I’m loving the soft butterfly images and think they work great with pastel shades.

I’ve used Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron and Soft Suede for this card which is one of my favourite colour combinations. I’ve coloured the branch image with Stampin’ Markers so I can have all three colours on one stamp, this also adds to the soft pastel look I was going for.

I’ve added a little Mint Macaron piece of designer paper to the background just ground my image.

Simple Stamping with In Bloom

This is the first time I’ve pulled out the In Bloom stamp set, its a really great set for creating your own designer paper which is what I’ve done here.

I’ve used a colour combination of Merry Merlot, Shaded Spruce and Gorgeous Grape and used the Rectangle Stitched dies for the layers on the card.

I’ve finished the card off with a little Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding.

You Can Count on Me Card

I’ve been trying to use up the remenants of my dsp from the current catalogue before my new catalogue pre-order arrives (fingers crossed its today!). Today I’ve pulled out the Playing With Patterns pack and I’ve paired it the Hey Girlfriend stamp set so I can also pull out my Blends.

I’ve used a colour scheme of Night of Navy, Purple Posy, Highland Heather and a touch of Pool Party.

I’ve added some Night of Navy Holiday Rhinestones as a finishing touch.
