Dragonfly Card with Suite Sampler and Inspired Thoughts

The Suite Sampler stamp set has been a host set for the January to June Catalogue, its featured right at the back of the catalogue on page 88 so some of you may have missed it. As its a host set its only available with order over £150/€200 but I think its lovely if you can stretch to a big order.

It contains images which coordinate with the Dandy Garden, Hydranga Hill, Love You Always, Fine Art Floral and Sand Sea suites of products, so greatif you want extra co-ordinating images.

Today I’ve used the large leaf stamp to create my background, stamping in Balmy Blue ink onto corresponding cardstock.

I’ve then used a diecut from the Scalloped Contours Dies and stamped the dragonfly and my sentiment which comes from the Inspired Thoughts stamp set.

I stamped a seperate dragonfly on scrap basic white cardstock and then coloured the wings of both in Wink of Stella. After the scrap butterfly was dry I cut out the wings and adhered them to the other dragonfly. At the wing base I used Mini Glue Dots but at the tips I used Mini Dimensionals to give the illusion of fluttering as you can see the other set of wings underneath.

To finish off the card I added three adhesive backed sequins to the card, these are actually supposed to be Coastal Cabana but I think they’ve blended in perfectly.

Reme, ber there are only two more days to shop from the Mini Catalogue, so if there is anything you can’t live without now is the time to order.

Thanks Card with Pansy Petal Designer Paper

Today I’m working with the Pansy Petals Designer Paper to show you the more floral designs in the pack. To show off this beautiful paper I’ve made some simple Thank You cards using the “Thanks” sentiment from the Biggest Wish stamp set.

I’ve matted each piece of designer paper onto matching in colour cardstock and then added a strip of the same coloured Open-Weave Ribbon about an inch from the bottom of each card.

The sentiments are stamped onto labels cut from the Potted Succulents Dies and embellished with some of the new In-colour Jewels.

I love all of these designs as they feature my favourite thing flowers but my very favourite has to be the design on the black background. This reminds me of the scene in Alice in Wonderland where Alice is walking through the woods about to meet the Cheshire Cat and film always makes me smile.

A Cut Above Father’s Day Card

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads and Grandads out there, hope you are enjoying your day. This is the card I made for my dad using the A Cut Above stamp set. Hope he likes it as his favourite thing is cutting grass either with his lawnmower or out in the field on his tractor.

For the background paper I’ve used one of the sheets from the Flowering Catus Product Medley, also available in the refil pack. This paper reminds me of grass flying eveywhere when you’re mowing so perfect for this card.

I’ve kept the rest of the card simply colouring with Stampin’ Blends in Mossy Meadow, Evening Evergreen, Smokey Slate, Basic Black, Pool Party, Petal Pink, Poppy Parade, Cinnamon Cider and Night of Navy.

The sentiments were stamped on labels cut from the Potted Succulents Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Adhesive Strips. I hope my dad enjoys the card and hopefully gets a chance to do some mowing even though its cloudy here today in Yorkshire.

Simple Father’s Day Card with Handsomely Suited

As its Father’s Day here in the UK on Sunday I thought I share a some ideas for cards over the next few days. This first one, using Handsomely Suited is very quick and simple to make as its just stamp and colour and it can also be any colour combination you want.

I was watching England play there first game while making this card so went for a patriotic colour scheme of Real Red Red, Misty Moonlight and White.

After stamping and colouring the tie images I added a length of Real Red Double Stitched Satin Ribbon across the card layer before adhering to the Real Red cardstock matt and the Misty Moonlight card base.

I stamped the greeting with Tuxedo Black ink onto the smallest label in the Painted Labels Dies, I’m so impressed with how perfectly its fits. I then added this to my card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A quick and simple Father’s Day card, unfortunately the men in my life are all more outdoors basedbeing farmers so guess I’ve some more cards to whip up before Sunday.

Back to Back Blooms Birthday Duo

I’ve got two cards today featuring the Back to Back Blooms stamp set from the January to June Mini Catalogue. This is one of our Reversibles stamp sets which means you can use both sides of the stamp to stamp. As these images are not symmetrical the back and front image won’t line up completly but will complement each other, perfect for when you’re stamping flowers.

I’ve kept to using Black, white and Magenta Madness for both cards. This first one uses Black as the outline and Magenta Madness as the background stamp.

After I’d stamped my background Magenta Madness image on the first card I re-stamped on a second piece of cardstock to create a lighter shade for this card. I then used full strength Magenta Madness for the outline.

The greeting comes from the Seaside Notions stamp set which is one the retiring list and I stamped this with White Craft Ink onto an Everyday Label.

I love the simplicity of the Back to Back Blooms stamp set, plus its a floral set which are always my favourites. Can’t wait to have more of a play with this one.
