Congratulations Card with Born to be Loved

Today’s card is showcasing three products which are retiring, two of which are low in stock so if you want them don’t wait. These products are the Born to be Loved stamp set, the Bundle of Joy Speciality DSP and the Sweet & Sassy Framelits which I’m surprised are retiring as I consider them a crafting staple.

Anyway here’s the card I came up, a very simple design which highlights these beautiful products.

I love the mix and Gold and Very Vanilla and think this card could work for many occasions including Weddings, Anniversaries, Engagements and new baby cards.

The heart stamp in the catalogue had the sentiment “Born to be Loved” on it which I didn’t want to use so I simply covered it up with some short strips of washi tape. I then inked the whole image with Versamark ink and then removed the washi carefully before stamping, leaving just the gorgeous border to be embossed.

I also embossed the “Congratulations” in gold to match the rest of the colour scheme, this greeting came from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, which I’m so pleased is staying around for the next catalogue as its one of my favourites.

Beautiful Butterfly Birthday Card

For today’s card I pulled out two of my favourite stamp sets from the annual catalogue Butterfly Basics and Touches of Texture which I think sometimes get neglected at this time of year when we have a new catalogue full of goodies to play with. Touches of Texture is one of our more expensive sets so its perfect one to add to your starter kit as one of the two extra stamp sets you get for Sale-A-Bration.

I wanted a vintage feeling card so went with a colour scheme of Crumb cake, Blushing Bride, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.

One of my favourite stamps from these two sets is the big splotch stamp from Touches of Texture, its a great one for creating a quick stamped background.

To finish the card I added  the smaller detailed butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlits die set.

Here’s a look at the inside, where I have just added a little fern detail to one corner.

I’m Back… to Party with the Pandas

So if you’re a regular visitor to my blog you may have noticed that I’ve been away for the past couple of months, life got in the way and crafting had to take a back seat but I’m back now and ready to share plenty more crafty ideas with you all.

So today I’m sharing a quick and easy birthday card I made with the Sale-A-Bration stamp set Party Pandas, one of my favourites from this years selection.

partypandarazzleberry

I used a Rich Razzleberry card base with a layer of patterned paper from the Tutti-frutti 6 x 6 dsp pack. This is a great paper pack as there are so many colours included with lovely cheerful patterns on one side and fruity patterns on the other. I have to be honest I’m not a fan of the fruit sides but the others I just love as they are so versatile.

I stamped the cute little panda on a Whisper White oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits and matted on a larger scalloped one in Rich Razzleberry. I stamped the balloon on a scrap piece of the tutti-frutti paper and fussy cut it out to give the panda his balloon to pop over the layers.  I added a banner greeting stamped from the Birthday Banners stamp set and cut out with the Bunch of Banners Framelits.

And here’s a look at the inside, where I stamped a couple of the panda’s balloon’s in the corner and coloured them with the Rich Razzleberry and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends.

Hope you enjoyed today’s project and if you would like the Party Panda stamp set then just place an order of £45.00 or more before the end of the month and you can choose it as your Sale-A-Bration freebie.

Modern Christmas Cards using Christmas Pines and Swirly Scribbles Dies from Stampin’ Up!

Hope you’ve all had a good weekend, here in Yorkshire we’ve had a few flurries of snow which has got my kids very excited, sadly I don’t share their enthusiasm. I’ve stayed inside by my very cosy fire and made this couple of very modern looking cards, something I struggle with but I do like this duo.

I used a colour combination Black, White, Silver with a hint of Melon Mambo to add some brightness. The Melon Mambo parts were die cut from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits which I think are great for adding accents and focal points to your projects.

The patterned paper on each card comes from the Merry Music Speciality DSP and the stamped elements come from the Christmas Pines stamp set. I stamped the greetings on each in Versamark and embossed in Silver to add a bit shine.

To add some extra bling I added some of the Silver Metallic Enamel shapes which are definitely my favourite embellishment from the annual catalogue, I can’t stop using them!

If your thinking of placing an order today is the ideal day to do as we have free shipping on all orders placed before 11pm tonight, so you could order just one pack of the Metallic Enamel Shapes to try them out.

Floral Friday: Wood Words and Lots to Love Card Set

These cards were inspired by a challenge set by my upline in our Facebook group, the challenge was to create something floral, a challenge I can definitely get onboard with. I pulled out the Lots of Love stamp set as this is one I bought back in October and its yet to see any ink.

I wanted to use the big bold Sending Lots of Love greeting as that’s one reason why I bought this set. As I wanted this greeting to be the focal point I did struggle a bit when coming up with a background idea. I then decided to pull out Wood Words and the beautiful floral background stamp in that set.

I stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink as I was planning to use the Stampin’ Blends on this card somewhere. I picked out the Dark Bermuda Bay and the Light Old Olive to highlight the flowers and some leaves on my stamped background. It has been so long since I used Bermuda Bay, it was right at the bottom of my inkpad pile. I’m not sure why I don’t use it more it such bright deep turquoise colour, I think it could be appearing again very soon.

I added the group of three flowers in the bottom left corner to give some more detail to the cards, notice they all have matching coloured gems for their centres? As Stampin’ blends are alcohol markers you can colour more than just card with them, so if you have the Metallic Enamel Shapes you can make them any colour you like.

So which is your favourite? I think the Bermuda Bay one is my favourite, there something quite striking about Bermuda Bay and Black as a colour combination.

Until next time,
