Mum’s 60th Birthday Card featuring Botanical Blooms

It’s been quite a while since I’ve done any crafting, I just haven’t felt inspired recently despite having loads of gorgeous products to play with. Anyway it was my mum’s 60th birthday this weekend and I knew I wanted to make a special card for her that showed I cared, so I got out the Botanical Blooms Stamp Set and matching Framelits and had a real good play making all kinds of flowers. Here is the card I came up with

I really love how this card turned out and can highly recommend the Botanical Builder Framelits for bringing back you mojo if its gone walkabout. The colour scheme I chose came from the Falling In Love DSP which is just gorgeous, I need more before this catalogue ends. Along with Sugarplum and Very Vanilla I used the gold foil cardstock and some Mint Macaron as an accent colour.

On the inside I just stamped a boarder along the bottom using the flowers from Botanical builders and the leaf stamp comes from Blooms and Wishes, which had to be part of the card as its my favourite set. The greeting in the card comes from Balloon Adventures.

The card base was an 8″ x 8″ one which I had in my stash from my pre Stampin Up days. You could make a similar one using two sheets of Thick Whisper White and joining together.

I’m pleased to report my mum loved her card and I hope you did too.

Floral Friday: Sealed With Love Friendship Cards

Initially when I planned this focus week I wasn’t going to write my Floral Friday post as I wasn’t sure if it would work, but surprisingly these floral themed cards were just screaming at me to be made. Which I guess shows just how versatile Stampin’ Up! stamp sets really can be. Continue reading “Floral Friday: Sealed With Love Friendship Cards”

Floral Friday – Insides the Lines- Thoughtful Poppy Card

This week’s Floral Friday card features the Inside the Lines dsp again, I just love colouring with this paper and suggest you get your hands on some before the end of Sale-A-Bration. This time I took Poppies as my inspiration and made a Sympathy card. Continue reading “Floral Friday – Insides the Lines- Thoughtful Poppy Card”

Floral Friday – Inside the Lines Razzleberry Birthday Card

This years Spring/Summer and Sale-A-Bration catalogue have introduced a couple of products for those interested in adult colouring, the watercolour pencils and the Inside the Line dsp. As someone who finds colouring very therapeutic and has a very large collection of the colouring books I couldn’t wait to test out these two new products. Here’s the card I came up with using a Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive colour scheme.

I loved making this card and love how it turned out even more and most of all I love just how simple it was to make. Just a little colouring and cutting of the flowers and a greeting stamped on one of the banners from the Banner Framelits set. I love how adding a little bit of Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Marker to the centre of the flowers has just given them a lift and finished off the card.

Floral Friday – Oh So Succulent Birthday Card

succulentcard1.jpg

Today its the birthday of one of my best friends and to celebrate I made her this card, I hope she has received it before she reads this. I chose to use the new Oh So Succulent bundle  from the new Spring/Summer catalogue. The stamps and dies have a mixture of combinations which can be used to make flowers and other succulent plants along with some greetings in two lovely fonts.

I stuck to a colour combination of Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum, Calypso Coral with a hint of Tip Top Taupe to match with the co-ordinating Succulent Garden dsp. Calypso Coral is not one of my favourite colours as I’m just not an orange/peach kind of girl but in small doses I think it looks okay. Here is a close up of the flowers

I’ve added some enamel shapes just to finish the card off and keep it fairly flat  for posting. I’m looking forward to playing some more with this versatile new set.
