Merry Merlot and Copper Snow is Glistening Collection

Today I’m back to share with you a few card I made with the new Snow is Glistening stamp set and matching dies, these products are only available during November while stocks last, so if you like what you see I urge you to place your order quickly and we’ve already lost one of the products in the showcase.

This stamp set is like a dream come true for me as I’m a huge snowflake fan and have quite a collection of various snowflake sets, these is my favourite though simply for that Christmas tree stamp its stunning and could be my favourite stamp of the whole Christmas releases this year.

So obviously this stamp had to be the focus of my projects right? So here are four different ways use that gorgeous stamp.

First up is a simple card using just Merry Merlot ink and the Stamp-a-ratus to create this card front, this really highlights how detailed and beautiful that stamp is. I finished the card with a simple layer of copper foil to add a more Christmassy feel.

For my second card I went a little more detailed and stamped the tree in Versamark and embossed in Copper embossing powder. I added a sentiment also from the Snow is Glistening stamps set and used the Tailored Tag punch to add some copper highlights to the card. I also stamped the large snowflake in Merry Merlot on the card base to give a subtle detail to the background.

For the third card I embossed the tree again in Copper but this time I stamped it was on Merry Merlot cardstock, I then roughly cut the tree out. I created the background using the falling snowflakes stamp in two rows across the middle of the cardstock, with the Stamp-a-ratus  this was easy it line up and looks great. I added a strip of Merry Merlot cardstock across the middle to ground the tree when I adhered it. To finish the card I added the greeting “Seasons Greeting” from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set, which is another gorgeous snowflake set. As a final touch I added three copper snowflakes cut from the Snowfall Thinlits.

This final card is my favourite, probably because it uses the gorgeous Merry Merlot and Copper Reversible Ribbon, this is in my opinion the most gorgeous ribbon Stampin’ Up! have ever created, I’m tempted to order more and use it with my Christmas wrapping.

The background of this card was created using the tree stamp vertically, I’m impressed I was able to line this up so you couldn’t tell where the join was, thank you Stamp-a-ratus!!

The main focal point of the card is the large snowflake, this was tricky to cut out of the foil without it ripping, but I finally got it to work by placing some greaseproof paper between the foil and the die and running through the Big Shot four times.

I have loved creating all of these cards and using the Snow is Glistening stamp set, pop back later to see more projects with this gorgeous set and the other set in the Snowflake Showcase, Happiness Surrounds.

Happy Crafting
