Football Frenzy Birthday Card

One of my favourite sets from this years Spring/Summer catalogue has been the Custom Tee stamp set and T-shirt Builder Framelits, the combinations are endless with these products. I’m so gutted it didn’t make it one to next years catalogue as I have plenty more playing to do with these products. Today I’m going to show you a football inspired birthday card which I made for one of my son’s friends.

Can you guess how I made the football? Yes that’s right I used the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, gosh that’s a mouthful isn’t it! I took a piece of Whisper white and then a piece of Basic Black and ran them both through the bigshot. I didn’t spritz the cardstock first as recommended as I only wanted a faint impression….it was still pretty deep.

I then cut out seven black hexagons and stuck them on top of the Whisper White so they formed the following pattern, similar to a football.

I then cut out a circle using the Layering Circles Framelits and my football was complete. The football shirt was stamped in Emerald Envy with stamps from the Custom Tee set and then cut out with the T-Shirt Builder Framelits.

The other elements on the card came from the Confetti Celebration stamp set which is one which hasn’t a had lot of love over the last year but is actually a very handy set to have in your stash.

To finish the card off I added a strip of Emerald Envy dsp from the 2016/2018 In-Colour stack and layered all the elements along the side. Here is a close up of the football

So what do you think ? Do you like my football themed card, I’m really pleased how it turned out and now have a great card idea whenever there’s a football fan birthday insights.

Although the Custom Tee stamp set and T-Shirt Builder are on the retired list there were still available at the time of writing this post, so grab them quick if you like them.

Bride-to-Be Card Custom Tee

As spring arrives many of us will be starting to spend some of our weekends at weddings and hen parties. Today’s card is a fun and quick card suitable to give to the Bride-to-Be as she celebrates her Hen Party.

I’m really pleased with creating a feminine card with what I initially considered to be a masculine card and love how simple this was to make.

The background paper comes the Pop of Pink Speciality paper which I’ve struggled with a bit, I think its a little too bold for me with all the black in it. The pattern I chose was one of the subtler ones. I made the stripes with the co-ordinating washi tape which again I haven’t used. Any ideas for what to do with washi tape?

The little focal point was created with a Whisper White label cut from the Tags and Labels Framelits. The t-shirt was cut out of Melon Mambo and the little sash cut form Whisper White both from the T-shirt Builder Framelits.

I stamped and cut some little flowers from the same set and embellished them with some of the tiny pearls from the Basic Pearls pack.

The colours could easily be changed to fit the Bride’s own colour scheme using other papers and tape, or even paper strips to create the striped effect.
