I made this card after having a little play with the Detailed Santa Thinlits as I just wanted to see how they worked and what exactly the die cut out. The answer is the Cherry Cobbler part of this card. Continue reading “Cherry Cobbler Detailed Santa Card”

Two “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” Cards with Holly Jolly Layers
One of the new Hostess sets in the Autumn/Winter Catalogue is Holly Jolly Layers, a perfect set to match up with the Layering Framelits sets and create some festive tags. Today I have used the “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” stamp as a focal point for my cards.

Both cards use the greeting as focal point and to make them stand out even more I used my Stampin’ Markers to highlight the word Merry on each card. Here is the Crumb Cake version on its own:

For these cards I used the 12 x 12 sheets to create cards which were 4″ by 6″ in size so I could fit six 1″ squares down the side. For this Kraft version I used scraps from the Candy Cane Lane DSP and some red metallic thread to embellish.

The Cherry Cobbler version uses the same idea but uses scraps from the Presents and Pinecones DSP and is embellished with the green metallic thread.
I love this simple design and think if you changed the sentiment it could work for any occasion and with any of our dsp packs. Which is perfectas they are currently buy three packs get a fourth free, so just think how many versions of this design you could make, with one sheet of dsp producing 144 1″ squares!

Pool Party Christmas Tree
Today I wanted to create a Christmas card that used a non-traditional colour scheme and had a more modern feel. I chose a colour scheme of Pool Party, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla and paired them up with the Twinkle Trees Stamp Set.

I love how this turned out and can see myself making a Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum version. The greeting which I think works really well on this card comes from the Star of Light stamp set. I added a little ribbon to the edge but think the design could work just as well without.

Super Quick Santa Card
I love making quick and easy cards, especially at Christmas when we need more than usual. This super quick card just took a few minutes to make and can be easy replicated.

The cute little Santa is made from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and punch simply stamped in the archival black ink and coloured with Stampin’ Markers. He’s mounted on an oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits which are possibly one of my favourite sets of Framelits. The banner was created by using banner from the Bunch of Banners and a greeting from Star of Light which is set I really need to play with more.
The background was a just three strips of the Candy Cane Lane DSP, which is included in this months special paper sale. Buy three packs of DSP and get a fourth pack for free, so its the perfect time to stock up on your favourites.

Candy Cane Lane Village Card
Today’s card was made using the Candy Cane Designer paper as a focus and was super quick to make. I took the paper with the little gingerbread houses and cut three out to form the main focus point.

The background was created using the Softly Falling Textured embossing folder and some Whisper White cardstock. I then finished the card off with some of the gorgeous stitched grosgrain ribbon in real red and a greeting from the Star of Light stamp set which has been cut out using the Bunch of Banners Framelits.
